A Painful NFL Rebuild: What Are the Broncos Really Doing?

A Painful NFL Rebuild: What Are the Broncos Really Doing? The Denver Broncos traded receiver Jerry Jeudy. The released Russell Wilson & Justin Simmons and they are in full blown rebuild mode. Can Sean Payton & George Paton save the Broncos franchise? Did teh Cleveland Browns get a good deal in the Jeudy Trade. Mac Jones is going to Jacksonville.

  1. The most accurate part of the discussion about Jeudy is at 7:58.

It's actually hilarious to compare Jeudy to Sutton, because Sutton's drop rate over the last four seasons is terrible:

    Drop % 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023:

    Jeudy: 8.6%, 1.8%, 5.0%, 2.3%

    Sutton: 16.7%, 3.1%, 8.3%, 6.7%

Jeudy's drop rate is significantly lower every season. What's also funny is how you talk about how bad Jeudy's drops were in his rookie year but conveniently forget that Sutton was a miserable 16.7% in 2020, the same year Jeudy was supposedly so awful.

  2. I think you just need to become a basketball fan and enjoy the Nugs from now on. The problem with the Broncos is not the players but it's systemic – they're the new Redskins. Terrible owner, terrible GM, terrible coach – yes, you're paying Sean Payton a ton of money and he stinks. Drew Brees carried his ass in New Orleans and just look at the QB mess he left there – Taysom Hill was his succession plan? That useless gimmick non-QB is eating nearly $16m of the Saints' salary cap this season and that is Sean Payton's doing – that's the guy the Broncos think can lead this team of rusty bolts and soggy cardboard to victory.

  3. Funny stat

Future goat Mahomes threw 1100 yds more for only one more passing TD and more than double the INTS!

All the while playing one more regular season game, then Wilson and still won the SB, so if the Broncos D shows up from the start of the season, do they win SB? Also, does that mean Mahomes should be released from the Chiefs because it took him almost 200 attempts to hsve that 1TD more and to have a worse qbr and same completion percentage and .1% yd per attempt more than Wilson?

The same goes for Josh Allen in his stats for the year, and Lamar won MVP with near identical passing stats as Wilson except less passing TD and more INTS as well.

All of them had twice as many picks. What ya want more empty yards with no extra TD to show for it or same TD converted with fewer attempts and fewer YDs to have to achieve it?

Maybe he not the right fit but I see ppl and analyst saying he no good and ppl hating on his play but check all the stats for the big stars not like they popped off. Just there D not giving up 30-70 a game first half of season. That doesn't happen, and the team dynamic is different. Payton tanking like the Dolphins for them draft picks 😂

WAKE UP!!! News got yall trippin'!

  4. As a Panthers fan, I am very much in the same state wrt our own tear down and rebuild. So I empathize because this sucks.

But at least you can cuddle up to SB50, Broncos fans!

  5. As a chiefs fan this is by far my favorite football YouTubeer. Watching him slowly devolve and go crazy throughout the season/year has brought me a lot of laughs. Thank you for all your hard work and keep it up bud.

  6. I hate to say this, for your sanity, but wouldn’t Russell Wilson winning a Super Bowl for the Steelers, while probably getting paid more by the Broncos, just be the most Broncos thing to happen. Y’all had to get rid of him, this is true. But it just feels so Denver that the QB they let go finds his stride at his new home.

  7. Just like any rebuild, Denver needs to evaluate talent well enough to hit on at least three draft picks (productive starters) each year for the next three drafts, and coach some other guys up to that level. And that is if the hope is to turn things around in the next 4-5 years. The team needs 9 or 10 guys with 2 or 3 becoming Pro Bowl or even All Pro level. If they move off that plan and sign some bad free agent contracts out of impatience, it will only prolong the cringe. Having one mostly fruitless draft or albatross contract is how it goes from rebuild to perennial doormat. Even a star QB is just one guy, it will take years to accumulate the talent. You also have to stay with the coach during that period as it is being built. If a new voice comes in during this process, its back to the drawing board.

  8. Losing Jeudy is rough for the Broncos… But count your blessings, You could have had Ruggs. I really dont think being anywhere but Vegas really saved that dude.

  9. That Wilson contract gutted the franchise. They don't want to pay a soul, so out go the guys you have to pay, and you get everyone else on the cheap, and on rookie deals. It's actually a real Chicago sports move. And It gets worse. But, cheer up, five years from now, it might be better. Maybe. Kinda.
