Interesting game, the lack of ability to automate most things does lead to a bit of grind mid game. But all in all itโs quite a fun game. 7 out of 10, would be 8 but itโs a bit to expensive for what you get.

From 5:30, note that while the chance to stun is additive within a single unit's gear, it is not additive between multiple units. Each one has their own independent chance to stun, meaning there are diminishing returns. With two at 20% there is actually a total of 36% chance to stun, and likewise three units provides only about a 50% chance.
you can actually pause the attack and change the equipment of your combatants. pretty handy to add recently dropped weapons/protective gear on ppl in combat.
It is a good game! Have you tried to feed a bone to a wolf? =)
Glass is good, you can build a Greenhouse, it auto-replants plants.
I saw episode 1 and bought the game with DLC on Steam. What a gem of a game! Thanks FJ.
Please let me critique the outtro sequence, it's quite disturbing to listen to a mono track only on one ear with a headphone ๐
Rim world
So, I've picked this one up after watching your first video. Loving it so far, though after setting up my food with 15 chickens and 3 stoves (just making omelettes, the stews I keep for later in the game, don't wanna spoil it for you, like the stews spoil for me right now, lol. This will make more sense later. Anyhow, loving how you instantly noticed the same problem I'm having – money is just too easy to come by on the mainland. I had to get like 15 chests now just so it doesn't overflow and I started destroying cards rather than selling them… (Oh, and my university is all out of ideas, lol). Once you figure out eggs the economy goes out the window, you end up not needing anything and just wasting a lot of stuff.
A speed run to beat the game as quick as possible would be fun to watch ๐๐
I can only imagine what the state of FJ's house is like
Damn oni nuclear rocket ships.
A week I spent building it, testing it.
First mission, water planet drained and resources being harvested.
First oxigen got into the steam turbine room , no idea how… no problem, vac it out…. then, the water started flowing in reverse.. yes back through bridges.. then the game crashed.
Then the infinate nuclear waste storage exploded , no idea how…
Then the game started crashing.
Think my run is over… fun while it lasted.
30 seconds in and all I can think is that the Stacklands devs didn't anticipate a Francis Deconstruction of their game. (^_^;)
Actually apple trees give you apples. Apples combined with berries give you fruit salad. It's the same as a milkshake – 5 coins and 2 food. Good for selling on a second Market if you'll ever build another one.
And of course it's all absolutely unneccessary. You can make easy money by mining rocks and wood and turning it into bricks and planks and selling those. Which requires way, way less attention, space and cards.
Also you shoudn't use melee against ranged. Ranged beats melee, melee beats magic, magic beats ranged. Game actually gives this info to you, but you also can check efficiency of units in combat to learn it.
19:29 "Red, white and green deck"
I caught the reference!
The goblet goes on the temple. Need a mage to build it.
Please don't cut off this series, thank you.
Stacklands is a series I wish to see continued in the future.
More episodes please!
No such thing as overkill.
Damn you, because of your video last week I started playing it and are addictrd already.
I now have 18h of ingame time and rising^^
Also: sell the stew on the market, gives you a crazy amount of coins
Edit: well, 2 milkshakes give the same I think but are easier to produce, so carry on^^
It feels grindy because you haven't discovered farming automation, use food as currency and seem obsessed with the well fed buff.
Lumbermills are automatic and a couple of lumberjacks feeding wood into lumbermills, which then feed into markets, is virtually passive income.
The well fed buff is great until you consider how much effort is needed to maintain it, villagers will survive just fine on only milk or omelettes
it seems that if cards are RIGHT next to the the other cards that will auto stack…so if you have the cow card touching the milk card the next time card will stack on to the other milk. (i know the cow moves so sooner or later it will not auto stack till moved back but that was the example that popped in my head first lol)
Imagine playing this, Francis style ofc, with actual cards ๐
think you are over doing it with all the cards for food?
If I took a swig every time you cracked me up with this video, I'd be too drunk to write a comment ๐ . By the way, your complaints about weird things are also funny because A. Rimworld, and B. ONI.
Thank you for the entertainment!
I'll put it in hint form; if you want to make charcoal, think a moment on how charcoal is made in real life. Try that. ๐
you can speed the game up using "1" (that is normal) and "2" (that is faster)
Please play this one through! Three things: 1) Get a Hotpot. It stores up to 50 food in 1 card slot. That will clean up your frittatas cards. 2) Build a university, give it 50 coins. You get an undiscovered idea each time. Should be a good money sink. 3) The Iron Shield increases stun chance, but Chainmail is +5 HP; take your pick.
I will never play this but I enjoyed watching you play it
It's really painful watching you not utilize resource chests, please build some!
26:33 "There's another graveyard – excellent! Who wants to become an explorer?"
๐ถHumanity restored… and then YOU DIED ๐ถ
๐ถA graveyard to explore?! Ha-ha, DENIED! ๐ถ
โTwo mountains, plains, and a forest. Letโs see, thatโs a red, white, and green deck.โ AAAAHHH MtG trauma incoming! ๐
This makes for a great watch. I don't need any more card based games right now, but this one is going on the "maybe someday" list. Of course Francis John overprepares and destroys the boss. At least you didn't go full spreadsheet.
I don't know if it would feel like a Francis video without a bit of premature optimization and industrialization.
You can make soil with stick + poop. ๐
Made it 30th moon level with a planetary level mass production of omelettes. The micro managing so far is terrifying.
This game is awesome. Have not seen this video yet because I want to beat the game before watching you do the same ๐
