A New Yu-Gi-Oh Anime About Card Lore

A New Yu-Gi-Oh Anime About Card Lore. For yugioh’s 25th anniversary, Konami unveiled their new animation team, Konami animation, with a video highlighting different archetypes throughout YGO’s history. Duelists are now coping that a Yugioh Card Lore anime should be made. Will Branded, Duel Terminal, and World Legacy make it to the big screen and what will it really look like?

  1. As a professional amateur Branded and Visas hater (and to a lesser extent Duel Terminal love-hater), I'm glad that these archetypes are having their stories told in animation like they should've been from Step 1 instead of CONSTANTLY breaking the game over its knee. You can't tell me Branded wouldn't make for a far better JRPG to the tune of Xenoblade or Chrono Trigger instead of five successive archetypes that make me hate playing the game where Super Poly on legs is in every deck. I wish these animations all the success in the world, so that Konami can see there's money to be made here and shifts all of the development dedicated to breaking the game into making stories that don't break the game.
Yes I will vote for the Melfy show, I highly suggest watching Pui Pui Molcar solely for the visual injection of diabeetus.

  2. Konami: What do you even mean? that was all the budget, this were just 1 time adds. Why would we take advantage of all the stories that could be animated when we can do nothing and continue to reap money like Pokemon! it`s not fair! it should have been MEEE

  3. My fav archetype is destiny HEROs but as far as I know they don’t have much lore to go off of, but they cud definitely force 1 onto them and all wud be gud. The lore that I personally have become attached to the most has to be the charmers. I bet I wud also fall in love w Alba’s lore or something too if I got into it but I haven’t. I really do want to c the life of the charmers and their familiars. I can c there getting a solid 48 eps out of it.

I think the reason I fell in love w the charmers so much, especially in lore, was bcuz the very 1st charmer card I pulled as a kid was blazing hiita. And I immediately was like “she’s hot and awesome!. And I ended up pulling aria and aussa too and I liked them too but not as much. Then some 10 years later I pulled the evolved form of some of them and realized there was connection. Then went around and found out there an entire lore story to them and even individually too. Then some years later the charmer deck came out and I bought 3.

  4. Honestly I think something like the Pokemon Generations shorts are the way to go. An anthology series where each episode is a part of different card lore. Going from Ecclesia and Albaz' first meeting in one episode, to the Goblin of Greed's downfall into bankruptcy in another, to the Evil Twins pulling off a big heist in another. I think it'd be a good showcase of how varied this game's aesthetics are.

  5. Personally if I was Konami I'd first start with 3 greenlit series
Starting with an adaptation of the Sky Striker manga something I already know works and can see if there's an actual audience for an animation
-Second, a 12 episode anthology series with one episode per archetype focusing on smaller series
-Third, a part 1 Duel Terminal anime that would be either 2 or 4 cours

Then see how those work out and go from there

  6. Never was a fan of interpreting lore through art like cave drawings. That was cope by the community for Konami not telling the story of these cards. I'd rather they just do the work and tell the stories instead of making us do it for them.

Every zoomer is cope seethe rent freeing the coomer doomers and sneed feed and seed, they're locked and KEYED and SOVL and /pol/cel bloomer soulless black people(nah but seriously I'm not a racist, that's a /pol/cel thing, so please don't tell me to go back to /pol/ cuz I'm not ok) kino peak fiction!

  8. If anything I think the best move is for Konami to make animations of their most recognizable monsters. Something an outsider of yugioh would be interested in, instead of someone already buying Yugioh products.

MC ace monsters of course. I’d love to see more dark magician/DM girl and blue eyes or utopia

  9. The interesting thing is, they were already doing this card lore stuff in Master Duel for a couple of years, just in a very simplistic format. This evolution of that concept makes sense. By the way, Superheavy Samurai agree that Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are more than just ATK points. 😁

  10. All I want is the World Legacy lore, and it’ll probably take multiple seasons. It encompasses 8 different archetypes, all of which are integral to the story, and is implied to be tied to 3 other archetype lores

  11. "if this has even a 3% chance of affecting which cards get featured in official animations in the near future, I better not see any of you voting for melffy."

  12. Yeah i mean as a lifelong yugioh fan I can’t say the anniversary didn’t insanely excite me, and as somebody who had taken a couple year break from playing I haven’t stopped since then. I didn’t really realize it though, lmao. But yes konami spies if you’re watching it literally got me to spend 1 dollar on yugioh, so keep it up! For reference I hadn’t spent any money on yugioh since at the latest 2012 lol
