Great content, for the situation I would of stayed with the camper and got rid of the negative moodlets and gone exploring for supplies when you were in better shape. But other than that you've made great progress I wish you good luck man.
The warehouses you were at aren't a bad place to base, but I would pick a private residence near the edge of town myself. There are some with tall fences covering most edges that are nice.
You can look around at the online map to find them if you don't mind a bit of metagaming.

When you get to Louisville there is a HUGE wearhouse top left of the map in the industrial area. Makes a great base if you are willing to put some work to it.
