  1. Really appreciated this clarified timeline! What I wouldn’t give for a timeline of all Greek mythology though (except pretty sure it contradicts itself in several places, based on other research for my current novel).

  2. I really don't like the painting that shows up at 11:59. There's just something off about many aspects of it, including perspective in many cases.

It'd be cool if they showed credits, or at least year, for the paintings and depictions shown. Many are very recent (last few centuries) for obvious reasons, but it'd be nice to easily see who created it and when.

3:29: 📚 The video discusses the use of epithets in the Iliad and the Odyssey as mnemonic devices for oral poets.
6:21: 📚 The video discusses the Cypria, the prelude to the Iliad, which explains how the Trojan War started and sets the stage for future events.
9:19: 🌪️ Artemis sends a storm to ground the ships after Agamemnon sacrifices his daughter to her, but she swaps her out for a deer on the altar.
12:20: 🏹 The Trojan War continues and Achilles falls in love with and kills the Amazonian warrior Penilia, leading to his own demise.
15:49: 🔥 The Aans successfully sack Troy, looting the city, dividing up the women, and killing stragglers.
18:11: 📚 The Epic Cycle, a collection of ancient Greek poems, was overshadowed by The Iliad and The Odyssey and eventually reduced to Prose summaries.

  4. I will say, of all the ancient god groups, where nature stuff is generally related to only one God, it seems like in every other story some god or other can control storms, from poseidon, to jupiter, to apparently artemis.
