I hope the people complaining about this leave the game and don't return. Hate this BS "Hand me everything" shit that people expect from games today.
i already spend couple hundreds of $ just to buy a crystal it didnt get me nowhere. and the gap between the real whales who spend way more than a strugling guy like me into the game to make them self have way more advantage to other people below them just made me realize. that i should just quit. and fak the 200$ i spend on crystals for honing materials and gold. and never play this game again.

A game has to be profitable, yes games can sell skins to make money but mmos that are free to play for years have had a “pay to win” or “pay for convenience” business model. If you’re invested that much in the game, chances are you’ve probably spent money on the game 🤷♂️
Casual gamers perspective here: I try to be a logical gamer and keep things in perspective with my habits. I go "full invest" in every game I play (effort-wise). I am also a believer of return on investment. If I play a game like WOW and pay for the base game and a monthly subscription, It's fine. I got my return from my hours upon hours of entertainment. My strategy with f2p games i.e. Warframe, POE, Lost Ark, ect. is to give myself a mental acceptance gate for what those games compensated me with in the form of amusement. So I allot a casual financial investment monthly as I would with a game like WOW at around $20 a month. As a casual player that would easily put me at around 5-600 dollars. after a 2 year period. if you count up $20 x 24months + the 50 for base game. With consideration of all this drama revolving around the 1340-1370 gap I consider this small phase of mandatory creator compensation not necessarily a scheme but a dialback on instant gratification. The content in Lost Ark is easily comparable to the content of a game like World of Warcraft and I remember grinding dungeons for months before getting my guild up to the next stage in order to experience content. Arguably even years before hitting an endgame. With that being said and considering my specific perspective, this is not even slightly an inconvenience for me. The big question is, do gamers nowadays have such a rediculous amount of impatience that they want to dive into a game, hit endgame content after 1 month, destroy the final boss after 2, then cry about the updates not coming fast enough? Sounds like we need to stop binge gaming a game and throwing it out the window so quickly and just savor it. If you want to be a tryhard impatient ADHD kid who piledrives through all content in the first few months of release so you can move on to the next game and leave the player base then pay up or embrace the suck with me. I don't plan on measuring my c*ck by the speed at which I compromised my enthusiasm for a game by getting to the finish line too fast.

You are totally out of your mind, as always. Amazon produced New World…but Lost Ark is NOT produced by Amazon…they only run the servers…
Honestly… Looking at the amount of currencies involved with the game, the methods of exchange, including minimums on gem exchange, the way collectables like cards are in multi-stage "random" chests, the limited amount of actions, limited amount of resources, extremely high "rapport" gates.. everything about this game screams mobile game P2W.
Every aspect of this game "feels" like it has been designed to do three things:
1) Limit the amount of resources you can get to advance
2) Increase the amount of time you spend doing things for those limited resources
3) increase the push towards the cash shop.
I've seen a LOT of videos, and articles detailing how the game isn't P2W but how it's PFC (Pay for Convenience), but i don't see that at all. Stats (no matter how minor) on "cosmetic" gear that is ONLY available through the cash shop, resources, or fast-tracks to resources needed to advance in the game on cash shop shows the game is P2W. Every single aspect of the game tries to nudge you towards the cash shop. Want to F2P the game? Well, better saddle in for tedious hours of grind so you can 100% every zone, rapport, island, and task, because if you don't, you will fall short on one aspect or another, and the tight tolerances mean, even if you do 100% everything, you're going to have to do it in a specific order. Rapport requires a metric fuck-ton of resources, to get things like skill potions, or trait potions, however they are locked behind months long sing//dance/emotes just to get the quests, and even then, if you didn't do everything else in the game, in a specific order you will be gated out, because you don't have enough wisdom, or kindness.
Let's not even get started on the EXTREMELY low success rates when honing gear. fail 6 times for a pity roll.. sweet.. had 4 failures in a row, using all the honing "bonus" mats, and you can bet money on the fact that anything under 90% will have a 75% failure rate. The goal is to waste your mats, and wast your time, in HOPES that you say "fuck it" and spend money in the cash shop, either for crystals to convert to gold, or for the quick tickets that allow you to do more in game. As long as that's in place, those annoying gold spamming bots are going to be a problem.
Also.. Did you know Moments:
Did you know: That sending your friend gear in the mail costs THEM pheon coins?
Did you know: That you can't convert a single royal gem to gold (even though the exchange rate shown is for single gems)
Did you know: That EVERYTHING you do in game has a "tax" on it. Want to hone gear? SPEND GOLD (on top of your resources). Want to craft items with your hard earned farming loot? SPEND GOLD!!! Everything, and i mean EVERYTHING in game has a tax on it.
The video game industry is fucked up since the so-called free-to-play system has been created:
they've created it to make people addicted to connection rewards, events rewards and, at the end, addicted to the game, playing also with the "collector" string within a lot of us through battle pass etc…
This vicious concept is a rope that has been much pulled on by the industry it becomes ruined and people are now able to begin to understand the rotten side of this thing.
It's a pity many didn't understand yet that the people behind the gaming industry is not only interested in your money but mostly in your time: they want you to become vegetables, unable to think, with no time to elevate your spirituality and think about the future of the world.
You want a old gamer advice: quit gaming, go spend some time with your family, practice sports, make good deeds, dive into spirituality and you will feel wayyyyyyy much better!
It's reasonable if you don't expect to beat all the content in the game in a month, which is generally the mindset of western players.
Rather than running the marathon, they want to sprint. They want to do everything in the game as quickly as humanly possible.
You're not playing the game to enjoy it. You're playing it to chase brass rings, mindlessly, even at the expense of your enjoyment.
I just saw a guy bidding 8000 gold for a legion gate reward item, it's absolutely crazy the whaling that is happening in LA.

The thing is all the resources cost blue crystals and blue crystals can be bought by gold. If you understand what to farm, you don't need to spend money. Now you might say well a Paytowin player can gear up faster because they don't need to spend time farming, well yes and no, because honing material no matter if you pay or not have a cooldown. Even honing material bought at the shop have cooldowns and a player who knows how to farm gold can by those mats at around the same rate as a paytowin player except he obviously needs to play more.

Rember that the 100% honing rates was leaked via the initial patch notes. So to me it was a conscious choice to take it out.

i leveled up, and as soon as i unlocked the first dungeons and stuff, i did the ones i could (since timegated/they are basically dailies), rerolled/upgraded my pieces a million times till i got decent quality and spent half of my gold that i got from leveling just do that and realized that since dungeons are timegated this is going to be a crazy slow gearing process. Like if this was the only game i played, id come home from work and do 2 diff dungeons and then bam i have nothing else to do to progress my character, which im sure once higher ilvl id have a few more dungeons to do per day but yeah, timegated gearing process made me quit immediately.
Perhaps people should have just relaxed and enjoyed the content rather than racing to a red light then complaining that they had to stop.
in wow you dont get full mythic gear the first week too. why is nobody upset with that ?

Man after watch this video i really hope he try PSO2NGS even it a anime looking game like more than FFXIV but the game feel nice to all style of player are you casual yes. hard core ? not a problem. pay to win ? sure and the system and event that they have in game recently is really good for a lot of player

I just returned to GW2 in EOD expansion and the game is REALY like a GOOD WINE. The older it gets the better it becomes. Feel like u should give GW2 some loove! So Peace out!

Best line he said that hit so hard "Great Depression Sim"… holy fuck that was so accurate to what Lost Ark Tier 3 feels like.
I don't think the game have to be easy, and it is not good to be easy in the end game content, I don't think there is any problem on making it hard to progress, it feels more rewarding when you do reach that level.

i played for about a week or so and than it hit me i realized most of what you talked about, lost story short i haven't touched the game since.

T3 is the point IT IS CALLED ENDGAME. Play the game and over time you will reach max. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY. People are so pissed because they can'te get to certain numbers ASAP and that is the point, so the game will last longer.

Also with that said the KR/RU versions have more ways of getting materials due to content, once we get this content we will have more ways to get item as well as faster catch ups for alts. The fact you spread misinformation and keep doing it shows how stupid you can really be.
