Mass Effect 2 is a fantastic game despite not focusing much on the main narrative. The characters of the world are at the forefront this time and yet this decision still managed to create an incredible game.

Been waiting for this since the last one dropped
Garrus and Femshep are unironically the most wholesome and believable romantic couple in a video game.
loved me1
but i hated me2 so much i never finished it
3 times i forced myself to play it but give up in middle of last mission
I pity the Mass Effect fan that thinks 2 is the weakest in the trilogy… yikes opinion.
Would like to point out that the Cerberus backstory here is a massive retcon from ME1. In ME1 it’s implied heavily that they were an Alliance Blackops group gone rogue
Dude I just wanna say you're quickly becoming one of my favorite youtubers, Appreciate ya and can't wait to watch this mass effect is one of my favorite game series flaws and all
Good job on the video Gingy! keep up the good work.
Really you think that the Suicide Mission try to make us fail? I found it very simple. I only lost Mordin in my first playtrough because of i picked the wrong one for escort the crew. That’s all
I love Mordin just because of his dialogue around relationships, he's always so supportive and seeks to help shepard and whoever he loves
I saved Sidonis, because I felt Garrus was not thinking right. For Garrus to work through what happened and then move on it feels like something I would rather allow him. Plus Sidonis felt very beaten already so it didn't really matter if he is being killed or not
mass effect 2 is the best because it fleshes out the universe so well. the other games are basically just parts of a marvel movie
My only problem with the game is that when you’re planning the series back to back, 2 just feels like side mission the game.
None of the missions feels connected to each other and I don’t feel the pay off of any of it until the last mission and playing through 3.
There’s only like 5 or 6 actually main mission in a game that has like 30 or 40 something and half of those are really short. I don’t dislike like the game at all, I think it’s really well crafted, it was the first of the trilogy that I played. But it’s my least favorite of the 3 now cause it steers from the main plot so much for much of its run time I feel.
To add to your review, yes, Mass Effect 2 was on 2 disks. And originally you were supposed to get all dossiers at the start. There's even Diolog still in game from aliens going into the plague zone to recruit Mordin.
Mass effect 2 was so impactful to me I now constantly try to get my friends to play the series
I never knew about the Dark Energy plot line until this video. That would have made the Reapers harder to hate and really would have thrown the ethics of fighting them into question. It also would have been a great way to segue into the Indoctrination Theory plot line. Huge kudos for the research and organization of a very dense game/series. Incredible job condensing everything without blowing over anything important.
This game is in my top 5 games of all time
Mani just did Thanes loyalty mission today and at one point i was literally a pixel away from losing my target, to know that that actually would have resulted on the mission being completely failed gives such weight to having completed it, mass effect 2 is truly a great game
You should do Metro series next.
I cannot stress how overrated this game is from a story perspective. You literally explore inside a dead Reaper and learn N O T H I N G. You just shoot Husks waves for 20 minutes.
A barely connected mission based corridor shooter. Even in Lair of the Shadow Broker it acknowledges the Collector threat was little more than a waste of time.
At the end of ME1 the Reapers are coming and Shepard needs to find a way to stop them. At the end of ME2 the Reapers are coming and Shepard still needs to find a way to stop them.
Shamus Young's take on this game was superbly accurate.
I’ve seen so many of these but keep watching 😆👍🏻
11 is Jack. Kinda.
Bro what if you finish Suicide MIssion with Morinth and Zaeed alive only and then kill Zaeed in his loyalty mission?
Man I fucking love this trilogy
ME2 was like Mass Effect for dummies. New ammo gameplay was trash omni gel change was trash, simple level up was trash. RPG elements were trash. Mining for elements was god awful boring and the game was incredibly linear. The Citadel became a space elliptical, why not just have Shepard climb a stair master? Worst of all Shepard sold out selling his voice. Cerberus was never good, you play a bad guy terrorist in ME2. Shame ME2 was in the ME world.
Zaeed was a G
If we're going to ignore the "surprise twist" at the end, what if the Collectors had the captured colonists and transformed them into human Collectors to be used as shock troops for the Reapers, like they did to the Protheans, if the Collector armor is any indication.
Um, Aresh actually escape and in Mass Effect 3. There's a report of him savings a bunch of School kids from Dying to the Reapers. Unfortunately he died as well as he was mauled by the Reapers after saving the children.
ME2 mid
I like to save sidonas because it sets Garrus down the paragon path
