These cases are patients who I, or my colleagues have seen. They are de-identified and many instances have been presented in more depth in an academic setting. These videos are not individual medical advice and are for general educational purposes only. I do not give medical advice over the internet. No nighttime cold and flu medicine chicken 🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️

  1. It's really hard for me to feel any sort of compassion for this person. They were very obviously a kid (19 yrs living with parents is a child in my mind) so yeah that's sad, but it sounds Iike the kid wouldn't of had much to contribute and if he was that much of an edge lord to try something as outrageous as that simply for the "lulz" then yeah, I'd say lost cause and natural selection did it's job.

My condolences to the parents, I have a 10 year old, and I'd hate to see him become this impressionable. Especially in today's day and age. The internet and meme culture are entirely different from when I was a teen

  2. Ahh Nyquil Chicken. I remember seeing this back in 2008-2009 on 4chan. Looks like the internets ran out of material. We're going back… about 14 years to late to this one.

  3. Although this video means well, no outlet has posted any evidence that anyone actually has tried to eat this and been admitted to a hospital. The original video was a parody, not a food challenge as the media falsely claimed in an effort to garner ratings.

The FDA warning hyped by the media was not even focused on Nyquil Chicken but rather other social media challenges where people actually were hurt or died (such as Benadryl overdosing). This is a sorry example of news outlets failing to do anything resembling due diligence and creating fear-mongering for ratings.

The channel Food Theory has done a good overview of this shameful example of the failure of the news when reporters should be working harder to maintain the public's trust.

  4. i love how the news picks up on these things that have maybe happened once or twice in all of human history and then report it as if it's this massive trend that hundreds of thousands of people are doing, then people see it and actually start doing it. it's literally the definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy

  5. Painkiller suicide is one of the worst ways man… liver dies, kidneys die….coma, seizures, all they can do is give you fluids and morphine. :/ It can take days…
I have had serotonin syndrome from taking a anti nausea med with my SSRI and let me tell you, that is not a good fucking time.
