A Look Into Callisto & What It's Like A Year Later – The Callisto Protocol

I ventured back into the much debated title by Striking Distance studio. A game that promised it all and failed to deliver an experience that people could resonate with. But, what is the experience like a year later and how did lies end up impacting the games reception? Like, Comment and Sub for more videos!

  1. Its a good game. Not great. Personally i want more and i think that if it got a sequel that there would be a chance to expand on the Callisto universe. Im really hoping that Striking Distance Studios doesn't give up on this title because we need more horror games

  2. After a year finally I have the game and I consider that is a great game. I like the sound, ambient, graphics (even in low looks great) but the mechanic is one of the things that I don't like too much. In my opinion, it's better buy it when there's an offer cause being honest the game doesn't longer ao much.

  3. The first week of playing this was the worst. The combat system was really irritating. After the updates, I started to really enjoy it. The combat system with the dodge and melee took some getting used to. I do like the stealth attacks, kinda like The Evil Within. The haters went just a bit too far, methinks. Ads be damned, it was a better game than the haters made it out to be.

  4. game was boring and annoying, just not fun to play
would have been a better movie or tv show except problem is… the story was bad too
and the best part of the game was the dying animations and couldnt be a movie or show if the main character keeps dying like kenny in south park lmaooo

  5. o good ol awful 2 head
dodge left, dodge right, wack wack with low attack
dodge left, dodge right, wack wack with low attack
dodge left, dodge right, wack wack with low attack
dodge left, dodge right, wack wack with low attack
dodge left, dodge right, wack wack with low attack
    the end

then fight him 2 or 3 more times

1 of the wackest bosses of all time and to fight it multiple times, and the only other boss is the qte wesker captain dude which is pretty similar who then turns into the final boss who was nothing special either

    bad game bad

  6. I really enjoyed this game despite its SEVERE flaws. The world-building and atmosphere were fricken stellar and I adored the art design. Obviously it was a bit janky and played rather clunky, but I still had fun. Was really hoping they could tighten it up and make an amazing sequel

  8. I really hope that Striking Distance Studios and Glenn can get an opportunity for another shot. The game had a lot of promise, but it did fall short. And I hope that we don't see that terrible situation that is very common now by which any studio or creator who fails ONCE is immediately dismantled or fired so that they never get to grow, prove or even redeem themselves. Yet how many BIG studios have released disappointing or failed game after game, and yet continue to get second, third and fourth chances, simply because they have highly profitable IP? It would be a real shame if Krafton after seeing the middling success of Callisto just shut everything down and let the Callisto IP die.

  9. Excellent video and extremely thorough. I'll have to check out Riot mode after watching your coverage of it. Seems similar to Resident Evil's Mercenaries mode, or Gears of War 3's Horde mode. Shame it only has one map and missing enemy types. Would have great to have more stages to fight in with different loadouts, environmental hazards, & enemy spawns. I'm a huge fan of these types of modes and still play CoD Cold War's Zombies mode + Alan Wake: American Nightmare, which are also similar in their structure.

  10. One of the very few games I abandoned, and regret buying. It looked pretty – but had appalling gameplay mechanics which were dreadful to play with.

I mean, I hated Days Gone – stuck with a repellent, dour, mumbling self-pitying murderer sociopath as that game's repulsive protagonist (at least maniacs like Trevor in GTAV know they're The Bad Guys, and revel in it) – but at least that game has generally decent gameplay mechanics that worked, despite the wretched character you were stuck with.

But This game? Yikes. Getting stuck with another Alpha Male character, with terrible combat mechanics, and constantly running into blatantly unfair Gotcha attacks on the player with no chance to avoid them –

No. I abandoned it long, long ago, and it joins the short list of Games I Regret Buying. (Diablo 4 was another recent addition, there, and similarly abandoned.)

  11. Your Prometheus comparison is perfect! Both were panned by their core audiences because they failed at what they claimed to be, but when the dust settled, they were both pretty decent in their own right.

  12. I was extremely disappointed by this game. It was one of the most Mid games I've played which is almost worse than if it was a bad game. The combat was boring, the stealth section with blind enemies was a joke, there was barely any exploration very linear experience, it relied a lot on jumpscares. The game looked fine but just felt like a chore to get through. I deleted it immediately after I finished the game.
