In September 1971, eight-year-old Dean Ruston lost his father in an air show crash in Stratford, Ontario. Fifty years later to the day, Dean and his late father’s flying partner, now 97-years-old, take to the skies once again in a memorial flyby over the crash site in vintage Second World War Harvard aircraft.
Special thanks to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra for the score featuring “Gabriel’s Oboe’, by Ennio Morricone, under the direction of William Rowson with Sarah Caldwell, Oboe Soloist.
