  1. 🤠 I love those MX 80 Sound albums, and Ralph Records in general. Fantastic label! Their first album, Hard Attack, is also well worth looking into. Also there's a great Ralph compilation called Subterranean Modern which features more MX80 sound, The Residents, Tuxedomoon and the mighty Chrome! I got a album called Fonzie's Favorites which was a TV ad album that includes some of those songs.. Ayyyyy!

  2. Happy Friday! Thanks for sharing some unique albums gifted to you.
I enjoyed the B52s concert Monday August 22. They performed all their fan favorites from the debut album in 1979 through Cosmic Thing. Fred, Cindy, and Kate sang great. It sounded like listening to their records. Also liked seeing the fans dressed in 60s retro, Cindy and Kate look alikes, and a few Sci fi aliens 👽. Have a good weekend! 😊

  3. Just a side note: Eau Claire, WI is probably musically best known as the hometown of Justin Vernon, aka Bon Iver. His April Base studios are in (or rather just outside) Eau Claire which is pretty much where he and his friends record.

  4. Hi Frank,
I'm from East Riding of Yorkshire and come from Hull.
We have a different dialect to the rest of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. York is 62 miles away hence the name New York. We pronounce Yorkshire as Yorksher. Not sure how others in the other parts of Yorkshire pronounce it.
I am a big fan of The Residents and am aware of MX-80. Listen to the cover of Satisfaction by The Residents on YouTube as that will explode your mind.

  5. Hi, Frank Landry. I've been meaning to tell you for awhile that I think you have a real "solid" sounding name. Very "radio"! Well done. I see you featured a "Fonzie" album from OZ. Although, I didn't have anything ta put in your mail, I'd like to recommend a band I'm familiar with also from OZ. While they have been around since 2003! I only discovered them in 2018, but it was like a SONIC handgrenade!
The band is called "Parkway Drive" and I'm recommending a song (2 if you like the first version) The track is called "The Void" and it's a certified ROCKER. And as I said if you liked the studio, then watch the same song live recorded at the most sacred Metal Head gathering on the planet…Wacken Open Air!!! (Wacken 2023 sold out in six hours…85,000 tix!) If ya do watch the live ver. the crowd by itself will floor you! Play it Loud, so set your equalizer to "KILL"!! lol! (good bio and history on Wikipedia) Well, hope ya dig it. Great show with some rite college "odd-ball" stuff!!

  6. What a fantastic episode that was today. Those MX-80 albums are definitely a treasure! That Fonzie album is hilarious and love the info that you looked up on it and found out about the singers. It makes me wonder about the session musicians as well. Some pretty cool other stuff that I will have to check out. Cheers my good man!

  7. Hi Frank, thanks for the Friday entertainment par excellence. Love the novelty item… Fonzie Fonzie. Cheap Trick has become an indulgence of late. Happy to finally arrive at the dance. Cool Static Valley. Wow never thought a band would be named after an expensive cheese used to make the Italian dessert tiramisu. Yummy.. Have a great weekend.

  8. Thought you were gonna say The Residents when you said Ralph Records. If you are looking for weird music. I highly recommend Eskimo by The Residents. I dont know how to explain it. Because, is it music? Is it a movie minus the film? But it will totally change your mind on how music comes together. It's an easy one to get, as it never really went out of print. But youd totally want to find it online first. Just incase it gives ya nightmares. But I think it's one of the most relaxing albums they ever did.

  9. I had a copy of that Fonzie record when I was a little kid in the late 70s. Does it have a song on it called "Sit On It"? As I watched more of the video I see it does. I played the hell out of that record as I was only 12 or 13 when I got it. Thanks for showing it off!

  10. Thanks for reviewing the CD, Frank! It's Brandon from Mascarpone Cafe here.
It means so much to us for you to put the CD in the video and you got exactly what we were going for. We don't limit ourselves on genres, we just love creating music. The EP was conceptualised to give off three tracks that can showcase the kind of music we love the most. We're Indie in that we do things ourselves, but it's heavily, heavily appreciated that you're into what we've made. Keep on spinning! ♥EDIT: We tend to pronounce it "Mas-ca-pony Cafe", but the name is so random we don't really mind how it's pronounced, haha!

Isn't it fun and nice to hear from your viewers from all over the world?
Such a great variety of people and music.
    Keep on spinning Frank 👍
