The Ranchers is an upcoming cooperative farm/life sim where freedom is the name of the game. If you want to do it, odds are, you can. Fast cars, crops, animals, romance, children (even adoption), fishing, mining, crafting, building – it has it all, and then some.

With a Kickstarter Campaign launching on July 5th, 2022 and a release date of sometime in 2023, we’re pretty dang close to getting our hands on this game and seeing what it’s all about!

  1. "Think GTA online, but with farming" means that everything you do will be destroyed by other players just because they can. You build a farm and they will burn it down, kill all your livestock and laugh.

  2. It looks super cool, but I feel like there’s too many possibilities for the game to properly work. Most of the time when devs come out with this “sounds too good to be true” stuff it turns out it indeed sounds too good to be true.

  3. I think this game is probably gonna be massively disappointing, unfortunately even though I love the concept of it and would love to see it come to fruition.

  4. This feels like three different games in one. Part of me is skeptical, especially when devs are trying to give you “everything you want and more”, but I can’t help but fear that because they’re focusing on so many things they won’t fully develop all they are promising. But, what I see is promising. I hope this turns out amazing! I am in no rush to play this and want the devs to take as long as they need. Super excited!

  5. I know the game is supposed to be fun, but can it at least also be educational? Instead of just overdone task of digging grounds, toss seeds and pour water maybe add something about making compost and its ratio, varieties of plants with different needs, natural grows or add pesticides, hell just add pests etc. Farming is very important lesson for our own self-preservation. Even more so now considering how the economic and climates goes these days… I’m not blaming this game in particular but rather the industry itself. After all it just easier to go with proven/tested mechanics.

  6. There is another cozy open world fantasy farming game called the gods fabled: soil frontier which is now running it's kickstarter. Their kickstarter will end in 9 days and the project is yet not funded. The game is a solo developer project, some say the goals are too ambitious. I would be interested what's your opinion will be on that game. I am giving you this suggestion since you seem to have a keen eye for farming sims based on your content.

  7. This looks like 3-4 completely different games all put together. It's like GTA + The Sims + Stardew Valley…and then randomly Diablo shows up. This seems so ambitious.

  8. I've seen some comments and observations underneath the Facebook ad for this game on KS – and people pointed out bought (/stolen from a game called Coral Island) assets, lack of experience of the author (they said the studio only released some very bad cash-grab mobile games) and a plotline that doesn't really add up (the dungeon??) as well as some suspicious behaviour on Discord servers. All in all, people are worried this is a cashgrab game. Have you done your research on this possible side of the project?

  9. better do some research before buying the game, seems sketchy, the kickstarter goal stretch goals are so bad, they even copied coral islands
