  1. Good on you guys helping out a fellow cyclists or even if it was a person in general… Karma will be good to you… we need more care and love for one another the way things are happening around us these past 2 years. Be safe, stay upright, take care and keep on riding :). Love from Australia :D🥰

  2. Well done Mike, Julie and crew very nice ride. Really unfortunate when anyone takes a tumble, thank goodness Nurse Julie was in attendance which im sure was a comfort. Julie certainly got her fill of Yee haa's along the way, enjoy the rest of your week.

  3. Crikey, you're out early again!
I know a lot of people swear by waxing their chains, but it just seems alien to me not to clean it and relube after every ride. I just put a new chain on my Fatbike and rode it with just the grease it comes with and that was a real battle with my oiling instincts 😅
Hope the chap is ok and back on a bike soon 👍

  4. A crashed cyclist was the group leader a couple years ago. The lurid crash was on a wet bar grate bridge. I stopped just before the bridge and bore witness. We carefully dragged him out of traffic. He had a broken hip and some ribs. This had a very negative effect on the rest of the ride. He made a full recovery, but I will always remember that day. I can play that one back in my minds eye. Stay safe for others sake too!

  5. Mike, I'm glad chain waxing is working out for you! Waxing chains can be a bit time consuming. However, if one combines waxing with other maintenance tasks, chain waxing becomes less of an issue time wise. And as you mentioned, one added benefit is that life of chains are greatly increased. As are the life of cassette and chainrings.

E-bike weight can be an issue. There are road e-bikes that weigh 30-35 pounds. However, e-bikes in this weight range come with a hefty price tag. For me the advantage of an e-bike in the 30-35 lb. range is that it would be more in line with pedaling 35 lb. a mid priced non-electric powered mountain bike with an aluminum frame. I.e. still light enough to pedal like a normal non-e bike.
