  1. I loved what Rockstar was doing at this time. They killed it with Red Dead 1 and L.A. Noire. I hoped they'd continue into different kinds of games with the GTA engine. (A western, a 40's police crime drama? What's next?) But… they got stuck in GTA5 and Red Dead 2 took 8 years to make. As great as they are, they're stuck in Sequel Town now and way too focused on multiplayer.

  2. Well done! It would have been nice if Cole’s story had a happy ending, but unfortunately that’s just how it goes. I doubt we’re going to get a sequel anytime soon, since Rockstar is focusing on GTA6. In any case, I enjoyed watching this series. On to the next series!

  3. Future playthrough recommendations:

**Dragon Age: Origins (idk if you’ve played any Dragon Age games; if not, this is where to start)

    **The Saboteur(PS3/XB360-era open world game)

    **Portal 2

    **Rise of the Tomb Raider

  4. Thank you Lite for giving us such a fun time with this game. It's one of my all-time favourites, and it's been interesting seeing it again from a different perspective. "Sketchy eyes" is a phrase I hope I never hear again 😂 but it's been a fun experience and I'm grateful to you for it.
(P.S You have a really nice smile) ❤️

  5. The ending was great. Sure you can be upset that Cole is gone but when you really think about it, it's totally in line with the noir theme and most importantly he finally redeemed himself for his failures as a leader in the war. The end also set up what was supposed to be a sequel starring Jack Kelso, alas the sequel never happened and we are left with the tragedy of Cole Phelps. Amazing game

  6. Ah yes, corruption is alive and well in L.A. So it’s established that Petersen cut a deal so that he would become D.A and Cole and everyone else’s name would be cleared. In exchange the corrupt cops like Chief Worrell and Roy are not implicated, hence why that prick Roy is giving Cole’s eulogy.

Overall it’s one of my favourite stories. Cole’s ending is sad but at least he was able to come to his own redemption and forgive himself.
I do like the realism of the ending in that 1940’s-1950’s LAPD was one of the most corrupt police organisations in history.

Thank you so much for playing these and can’t wait to see what you’ll play next 😁

  7. I wish Rockstar would make a detective game in the GTA style rather than a totally linear game like this. You could have multiple cases to work on at once, some go cold, you gotta wait on evidence to be processed, etc, giving you time to work on other things. Would be so cool.

  8. Thanks LW for finishing the game. I will miss your names for people and your logic and reasoning. I subscribed after chapter 1 and still will check out other games you have. I will always be a fan of yours. Thanks for everything! ❤

  9. I wish Team Bondi had more time in hand to make ending less rushed. But overall it's a very good poetic ending tbh.

Like a real life, No matter what you do, Corruption never ends. This Moral told greatly both in LA Noire and Mafia Franchise.

  10. It's right there in the title: it's a noir story, and noir isn't known for having happy endings. But I do think it's a good ending–the excellent story is generally resolved and I love how everything ends up tied together. Kelso is a really good character and I enjoyed playing as him the last few cases. I think this game is a lot of fun and I'm really glad Team Bondi tried to do something a little unique. I agree it's sad we never got a sequel, but knowing how much work went into this game, I'm just happy this one saw the light of day.

Somewhere a couple years down the road when you've forgotten a lot of the finer details, I think this is worth playing again knowing where everything eventually leads. You be able to pick up on a lot of the little breadcrumbs. But in any case, I'm glad you enjoyed this excellent game and thanks for letting me re-experience it vicariously once again.

  11. Lots of people hate Cole for what he did in the war, but I think it's because there is so much time between the flashbacks that you forget some of the dialogue.

He was falling behind the other groups because they would just burn down huts, while Cole ordered his men to check every house first. Then again with the caves, he had fallen behind and his men were telling him to just blow it up and bury everyone inside, but he ordered them to check and clear it instead.

It wasn't his fault that when Ira (The flamethrower) got separated due to an ambush, he ran into the cave with the trigger held down, burning everyone he saw. Ira even asked Cole before that "Do you want some roast on this one, sarge?" and Cole replied "No, you guys have done enough" implying Cole didn't want any flamethrowers to go in, just him and his riflemen.

There's also a flashback early on that showed how his men didn't like Cole, because he was sympathetic to the Japanese. Which could be why they blame him for everything that happens, when it could've been avoided by just not caring about how the Japanese die, if any civilians are caught in the crossfire, or if he's following orders even while no higher ups are watching.

  12. This is me speaking to you from the post-alcohol poisoning afterlife after cringing and taking a shot every time Jack Kelso calls a woman "princess". Would have rather he went super noire and said "toots".
