The Columbus Blue Jackets are probably the franchise that a lot of people forget exists, in most cases. The sad part is that the Jackets haven’t done much to break that narrative. This franchise just can’t do anything right; or should I say, everything falls apart on them.

This year, like many before them, is no exception. This video is in dedication to the franchise doomed to be the enhancement talent of the NHL.

  1. I'm happy you made a video on this. As Blue Jackets fans we just want a season where no one gets hurt, our players perform to expectations and we don't have a shit HC. We're loyal fans and we'll continue to show, but we just want winning hockey. I live in Cleveland so I get to a lot of Monsters games and the talent is great, would love to see Jiricek back in CBus and a few others.

  2. My wife and I had our first date at a Blue Jackets game on March 12th, 2018. They won, 5-3 I think, and we got married less than six months later. We still love going to games and cheering for the CBJ win or lose!

My Mom is also one of the members of the Cannon Crew (she’s the blonde one). If you’re ever at a game, get your picture taken at the Cannon between periods and say hi to her for me!

  3. Columbus may be a perennially mediocre small-market team, but none of the other three turn-of-the-century expansion franchises have had any real success either. Nashville's come the closest, and at least they make the playoffs more often than not, but all four have just been wallowing for a quarter century. All I can say is, Rick Nash deserved better.

  4. I've always had a soft spot for the Jackets, even as a fan of another Eastern team. I wish they were more successful. Honestly? Their fans must be fantastic to stick by such a disappointing team for so long. (Also the 2019 memes were gold)

  5. Solid video Tree! Mixed feelings about ignoring the expansion draft rules that were in place that virtually guaranteed years of irrelevance for both Columbus and Minnesota but now 20+ years have gone by and one of those teams should have done something, but no.
