A British submarine model would be 'consistent with the original intent' of AUKUS

Former prime minister Scott Morrison has split with Opposition leader Peter Dutton over Britain’s role in the looming AUKUS submarine deal.

Mr Morrison told Sky News host Sharri Markson a British model would be “consistent with the original intent” of the deal he claims as part of his legacy as prime minister.

Mr Dutton, who was the defence minister during Mr Morrison’s term as prime minister, has warned the British submarines reportedly had “capacity constraints” in the intel he was supplied with.

  1. A British submarine model would just get us less capability for more cost and is really just a covert scheme to help prop up the failing UK economy using Australian taxpayer's money. The UK is in its dotage and we need to stop hobbling ourselves by letting the exploitative old vampire continue to bleed us dry.

  3. Snotty being a typical LNP Loser and snarking about his new leader from the shadows of Looserville.
He should just stick to his happy clapping and kissing the collective Hellsong ass.

  4. Having complementary defence platforms, among-which, navy is just one member, it would seem the US the better option, given Australia’s current defence control & command and capital materiel. Integration of platforms is important.

  6. Bloody hell, in 10 -15 years the subs themselves will be redundant.
Lease or buy some subs from USA, Germany etc, short term?
Why wouldn't Australia move forward with 'defence shield' tech and A.I. as a priority
