  1. I have an idea for you, Baseball International. I would like to see a video about how MLB might break into two levels. I am not a world soccer fan but I understand that's how they do it. In the top echelon you would obviously have teams such as The Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox, Giants, etc. In the lower league you would have the Kansas Cities, Twins, Miami's, etc. Realistically, I think this is something baseball should consider. Thoughts?

  2. If we wanted this to be a bit more well-rounded, then 48 might make sense. Add London, Lagos, Islamabad, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Dubai, and 2 more (maybe Ho Chi Minh and another Caribbean team)

  3. India: "Out of 1.4 billion people, you can reasonably hope to get 30K to the ballpark on a regular basis" 🤭🤭 Florida, Miami metro area has 6,091, 747 population and that elephant stadium supposedly gets an inflated amount of 11,421. It is not about the amount of people, it is the amount of people who will care about a particular thing or sport.

  4. Well, let's see. A Johannesburg team (even in a world of quick and easy travel) just isn't realistic: the nearest opponent, Rome, would be nearly 5,000 miles away! Put that team in London, instead. (Sorry, Africa.) Mexico and Japan each have too many teams: drop Guadalajara and Fukuoka and replace them with Miami (a true international city) and Detroit (they've had pro baseball since the 1880s, and I'm a Tigers fan!). And if you're going to put a team in Brazil, you really need one in Argentina, so shift either Panama or Managua to Buenos Aires.

    Carry on.

  5. An interesting idea. How would you get around the fact that seasons are reversed on opposite sides of the equator, so (for example) summer in Toronto or Amsterdam is winter in Johannesburg or Sydney, and vice versa?

  7. One idea I've mulled about in my head (with the travel is now easy stipulation of course) is an 82 team league where each team plays each other only twice (one home, one away) scattered across the world. Totally improbable in every single way but fun to think about anyways

  8. I would borrow a rule from European soccer. The lowest ranked team in European soccer is reduced to the national level league, and is replaced by the best team that respective country. For example if the Astros were the worse team from the usa, it would be replaced by the world series champion. Let's say that was the Boston Red Sox.
