Seconds after taking off from Los Angeles, a fire erupts in the engine of a British Airways Boeing 747 carrying over 350 passengers. But incredibly, the pilots don’t return to the airport. Instead, they decide to continue their journey to London – a decision which would soon lead to more problems. This is the controversial story of British Airways flight 268.

  1. Seconds after an aircraft loses an engine, the pilots say, β€œOh well. Let’s just keep going to London.”
I’ve never heard of such a thing. You don’t continue flying on a crippled airliner. An aircraft that could be in disaster…not knowing what else could happen? No words!

  2. I've watched mostly every video of yours, I'm a huge fan. The way you've upgraded your videos is just wonderful. You really are the best aviation story teller, I don't know why you don't get more recognition for the hard work and dedication for these amazing videos you make for us.

  3. Hey man! Love your videos, I've been binging all of them over the last few days. Have you considered the story of TransAsia? They have a pretty interesting history, ending in 2 fatal crashes in less than a year that culminated on them ceasing operations.

  4. Thanks for the amazing work!

    Suggestions from Brazilian aviation:
    – TAM 402 – Fokker 100, asymmetric reverse deployment on take off – 1996
    – Gol 1907 – B737-800, midair collision with an Embraer Legacy – 2006
    – TAM 3054 – A320, asymmetric thrust on landing, runway excursion – Worst air disaster in Brazil – 2007

  5. Looks like a BA Flight Crew that brought their A Game to work and flew a very safe flight. Looks like the FAA dropped their complaint because the BA conduct was no different than many 121 operators in the U.S.A.. Problem is the experience level within the FAA has been historically very low.
