SpaceX's Massive Overhaul at the Launch Site | Starbase Update

In this weekโ€™s Starbase Update, we dive into the latest developments at SpaceXโ€™s Starbase facility. Ship 28 is undergoing crucial tile work to prepare for its next flight, while the Starfactory nears completion with impressive cranes ready to handle massive loads. Mega Bay 2 receives new glass panels, and a mysterious concrete structure is taking shape at the Sanchez Site. We bid farewell to SN15โ€™s aft section and ponder its fate.

At the launch site, the existing tank farm sees significant upgrades, with new subcoolers being integrated. An expansion of the tank farm introduces horizontal tanks that could replace vertical ones, signaling further advancements in Starship technology.

On the orbital launch mount, essential maintenance work is in progress, including the removal of clamps and the return of the dancefloor. We explore the significance of guiding pins and the repair of the โ€œchopsticks.โ€ Booster 10โ€™s static fire test campaign draws closer.

Lastly, weโ€™re excited about the โ€œGATEWAY TO MARSโ€ sign installation at the launch site, reflecting SpaceXโ€™s ambitious goals.

Donโ€™t forget to subscribe for more Starbase updates, and be sure to be excellent to each other!

  2. Dangit Jack! As a professional beardsman I feel the need to say, QUIT SHAVING! I wanted to tell you about the next competition coming up in Detroit, tell you to get your beard ready for Nationals in November, but you keep shaving.

  3. There's talk of doing a propellant transfer for the 3rd launch, does that mean they'll attempt to launch two Starships at the same time, as they've been building a second launch mount?
