  1. Not really a popular opinion, but as fun to watch as Kurt was, he had a tendency to sacrifice psychology for high spots that I never really cared for (eg, him making Rey, and underdog babyface, tap behind the ref’s back before his WM22 title win had me furious at the time). Maybe with the bar being lowered by some of Dave’s recent ratings, this looks a lot more egregious, but otherwise I don’t think this is as controversial as people make it out to be.

  2. I don't get why there's all this buzz about what Meltzer says about Kurt.
Kurt is arguably the most technical wrestler to have ever stepped foot in a pro-wrestling ring.
Who cares about what a journalist has to say? I know many nerdy neckbeards who know about wrestling as much as Meltzer does and I still don't take their opinion as liquid gold.
Kurt has been there, he has done it with the top guys, in the top company at the best time of the business.
He surpassed all the goats and main names of the Wrestling world.
Yet again we ought to create all this chit chat for what? The opinion of a journalist who clearly states it's just an opinion.

  3. Kurt Angle is a great wrestler and one of the greatest ever top 50 without a doubt, but 5 star matches are earned, and I agree with Dave Meltzer. His closest match probably to being 5 star is probably Wrestlemania 19 against Brock Lesnar, had Lesnar not botched the shooting star moonsault at the end, that match probably then gets a 5 star.

  4. Let’s stop making Meltzer – a journalist, who has NEVER had any role even remotely close to being involved with being a wrestler – the pinnacle of wrestling opinions and match ratings. The guy is a fucking fraud and it’s disgusting that he has managed to literally steal a living WATCHING people work their ass off and say whether it’s good or not.

  5. Kurt is a legend and his feuds were always awesome. His feud with Austin is one of my favorite wrestling memories of my childhood. Austin throwing his medals off the bridge the milk truck everything. Angle is underrated soooo FUCK MELTZER.

  6. Five Star ratings from this other idiot is retarded matches are rated by an individual every single person has favorite matches Kurt and go in my opinion has had multiple five-star matches

  7. Kurt Angle's entire career were 5 star matches and partially the reason why most modern wrestling seems like every match has to be a competitive 30 minute match with 80 kick outs at 2. That's not Kurt Angle's fault but it shows that he's an inspiration

  8. I witnessed a tag team match it was John Cena and Brock Lesnar Vs Kurt angle and the undertaker and Kurt angle and the undertaker did a joke on it they did a recreation of Brock tapping to the ankle lock 😂 the way it was done was great because at that time Brock and Cena were the top heels at that time 😂 here's a list of all they match's and the legends I saw that night Chris Benoit d. A-Train
Rey Mysterio and Ultimo Dragon d.Nunzio and Yoshihiro Tajiri
The Worlds Greatest Tag Team d. Billy Kidman and Sho Funaki
    Rhyno d. Jamie Noble
Los Guerreros d. the Basham Brothers
The Big Show d. Matt Hardy V1.0
Torrie Wilson d. Sable, Nidia and Dawn Marie in a bikini contest
Kurt Angle and the Undertaker d. Brock Lesnar and John Cena.

  9. Kurt has some of the best matches and promos/skits/personas of all time lol. Literally like just his matches or just his mic related stuff would be goat worthy alone but we got to see both from one star 😂

  10. Dave meltzer even said there’s no real criteria for a 5 star match so his opinion literally means dick he a joke never wrestled before then got the audacity to rate matches with no real criteria he’s a joke

  11. I hope this recent trend of people bashing Meltzer continues and he loses his credibility. He's literally just a wrestling fan. Probably the biggest mark in the world. He clearly has bias towards his favorite promotions and wrestlers. His rating system is just his opinion and shouldn't mean a thing

  12. I, along with many other fans think he had a lot of 5-star matches. One of my personal favorites that a lot of other people don't bring up as a 5 star match was against Shane at KOTR. Yeah, he's had even better matches, but I still love that match.

  13. thats bullshit. hes had so many four star+ match ratings in his career that by career average meltzer still has rated him to be an all time great. people are obsessed with the full five stars when in reality, meltzer rating him ** 3/4 over and over again essentially means that he very much acknowledged his excellence.
