Blowout! The Boat Saga Continues on the Isle of Skye, Scottish Highlands – Ep30

Willie, Sarah and their dog, Jack Spaniels, continue their biggest adventure yet – leaving their suburban life and moving over the sea to ‘Live The Skye Life’!

In this episode, the Skyelifers rescue some washed up lobster pots, to try and catch some supper in the sea loch. However, the trip out in the boat ends in disaster again – before we even make it to the water!

Thanks & see you in the next video!

  3. Finally caught up with all of the videos from this channel. In a world where 'shorts' and TikTok seem to dominate, I am so pleased to have found you guys. This is basically a massive thank you for all of the work that you're doing, getting all of these videos out for us to enjoy. I love every part of them – from your little adventures, to refurbs, to all of the ups and all of the downs.

I am a long admirer of most things Scottish. It basically started with an essay we had to do in school (I believe I was 11) and I chose to do mine on bagpipes. To this day, I have no idea why but there we go. I am originally from Sweden but moved to the north of England in 1998 and have just stayed. Here we are 25 years later and although I love my home country dearly, I can't see myself ever moving back.

So why did I not move to Scotland? I had friends in Sheffield and have now lived in North Lincolnshire for the past seventeen years. I am in a small village and I love it here. Spent a week in the Highlands of Scotland last August and seriously did not want to come back – it is incredible up there, almost too much beauty to be able to cope. However, it's given me a taste for what may come some day.

Until that day, I will live it all through the pair of you and for that alone, I thank you. Sending you all much love and hope that you're all now feeling much better.

    /Anna.

  4. Take a sharp knife to cut the lobster pot ropes in case they snag the prop.

Someone once joked that the two best days of a boat owners life are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

    Good luck.

  5. Hi guys
I am watching your channel from San Diego, California I am from Hamilton Scotland and my family still live there. I just want to tell you that you give me so much joy watching your adventures. My dad would have loved you guys. He was always salvaging things. He even found a boat in three pieces on the Isle of Bute and took it home to make a wee boat just like yours. Thanks for making me smile and giving me comfort when I get homesick.
I am looking forward to watching your future adventures.

  6. Thank you all so much for your uplifting and inspiring content! Richard certainly is a star – good friends are beyond price! It’s so good to see you on the mend Willie – I had Covid earlier this year, and it wasn’t a picnic! Keep taking care of yourself – you’re in great hands/paws! Till next time!

  9. Trials and tribulations of boat ownership.😬
I’ve just found and subscribed to your channel and being a RIB owner, when I saw that large piece of checkerplate on the transom, it rang alarm bells. It’s a common bodge for stiffening up a transom to stop it sagging when the ply core is rotten.
On the plus side 2-stroke yam’s when maintained are very reliable, although not the best when it comes to the environment.

  10. Glad Willie is getting better by the day. I live in Romania and when Covid hit I had a single shot Jansen jab at the surgery in the next village. The restrictions were very strict here and proof of vaccination was required to go anywhere, even the open air Christmas Market in Sibiu! I did have quite a severe reaction though and spent a week in bed 😢 Friends in the village either brought me hot food they had cooked or came to my house and prepared meals for me, washed up the dishes, fed my cats, swept the floor and generally looked after my every need.

  11. I absolutely LOVE your channel and have been watching since it started before your move to Skye. You are such a lovely and talented couple and I also adore Jack Spaniels, who reminds me so much of my late Springer Spaniel, Toby. I’m so sorry for Willie with his particularly unpleasant bout of COVID, but you did a sterling job of editing, Sarah. Take care Willie and take it slowly. 🌈
