Didn't fly units used to ignore vertical movement for passing over terrain? What's even the point of fly now?
Agreed with so many of the positive comments. So nice, we watch this twice or tres.
Iβm sad they got rid of dense cover and difficult ground. Also, big non-flying tanks can move up on top of non-ruin buildings and βoverβ two inch defense barriers. Mehhh
this is dum
I absolutely hate these rules as it encourages slower play due to it being more efficient. It is the game designers job to make a game fun, professionals and general try hards will always play in the most efficient manner. If this general manner is tedius as hell and pretty damn boring (like having to roll like 2 or emperor forbis, 1 dice every single shooting activation) then you have fundamentally failed a design.
I miss the 25% hidden to claim cover rule from generations past…
Was kinda hard to rule though
Great video, especially liked all the little tabletop simulator examples you showed, really helps a ton.
Do people really play like this? Iβm so glad the people I play with can apply a modicum of common sense. There is no way that daemon Prince gets cover from the tactical squad.
This is a great video I just think sometimes you need to look at it a little sensibly
me this entire video πππ
The flying rule is so stupid
Great video but having it all visualized like that, damn those are some stupid rules.
can someone explain to me how fly isnt a massive penalty to your move??
Very helpful and well done video!
The new terrain rules could be worse. While they may not be as tactically stimulating, they do feel more accessible.
If you are fully in a ruins with windows and are shooting at a enemy unit in the open do the enemy unit get cover?
The TTS examples really help, thanks
These rules seem a little jacked up.
New tereain rules are a joke and a mind fk at the same time. Missing the awesome time that Nephelim was. Hope they eventualy fix 10th ed.
Thanks for the video
If GW just did one thing it would fix alot of the true line of sight things of tips of guns seeing around corners seeing a tip of a wing.
Just like scenery has a footprint that makes and imaginary line vertically.
Just make it that a model base is a footprint and you measurements for line of sight are determined from the base to the enemy base..
So if the attackers whole base can draw Los to the whole base of an enemy modle, then no cover.
If that footprint of that base is obscured by scenery that = cover.
That means your lascannon example would have 1 outcome always, not 3 – 5 different outcomes depending on models facing, etc.
If you wanted to be real tox, there's nothing stopping you from just having a base with no model on it right? Lol
Like how far do you take the modeling for advantage thing? How about just a pair of legs with no torso or a guy holding a 12in tall flag pole
God this fucking sucks as a ruleset. Every single game is going to have arguments about terrain.
VERY useful, thank you!
most of these rules are written for sweaty obese power gamers, in casual games you pretty much get the point snd stupid nonsense like a single bit of a single space marine is hidden behind a small shrub getting cover wont happen
10th looking terrible. Obscuring was a good rule no clue why they felt the need to remove it. Im not at all hyped for 10th. Glad for new nid models but will probably take a break. The new rules overall just bad. They simplified things way too much
thanks for laying it out so clearly and concisely with visual aids, i went from understanding terrain 75% of the way to being an expert
Mahalo!
