Hi! In today’s video, I revisit the original SNES Harvest Moon Game, which just became available for the Nintendo Switch.

I hope HM64 comes next
It makes me feel so old to realize this was the first game I played in this genre…and I was 19 when it came out!
(also, I'm glad my name fits in short character-limit boxes as well!)
Ah yes… this was my first step into the world of farming games back in the old days. I can't remember how many hours I spent on my SNES on this game and I don't regret it.
I don´t know if you already told this, but one good trick at the start of the game is chopping wood only at nightime since the night is ETERNAL in this game. And as long you go to the spring to restore stamina you can clean your farm in just one or two nights. Another one is by giving a pregnant cow a medicine it would give birth in 3 days rather than the usual 30 it would normally take.
I'm not interested in marrying the girls but this seems like a nice game. Be nice to play, maybe I'll see if I can ignore marriage & play if possible.
i gonna subscribe just for it
Omg so much nostalgia! We used to hire this almost constantly from the video store, sadly i never actually owned it!
Oh my God, if we get HM64, I will die! That was the very first Bokujō Monogatari game I ever played when I was 13.
I am bittersweet about the first HM(now SoS). It was a very cool take on the then very dry farm sim genre by introducing marriage and festivities, wrapped in a jrpg gameplay. By now it's just too much. I can't water each plot one by one and pick up the produce one by one. There was just too much progress since then.
Best harvest moon ever
Did I sprint to grab my switch the second he said this was out on the snes thingy? Most definitely yes 🏃🏻♀️💨
I had this for the wii but couldn't make very much progress. I made better progress with the first gb game on my 3ds.
FINALLY!!!!
it's my favorite harvest moon game. im screaming
My first HM was AWL, so you already know I'm crazy about the remake, but to be able to play the OG HM is absolute heaven
I've started playing Olive Town again in anticipation for AWL.
Dang my name is 5 letters long it can’t fit in the name box
Man, this brings back so much memories..
Remember, Natsume loves to tout how great they are for being the owners of Harvest Moon games for over 25 years… despite being the localizers that didn't do so well on this game's translation lol.
What a nice gift to show up for us! Thanks for sharing this info and a little video. My first time playing this game, I was at a friend's house who introduced me to it. I played it all day and beat it at 4 AM when he'd already gone to sleep haha. A short but fun game!
So excited!!! This is one that I played at a friend's house, but didn't get to own. I do have HM2 for Gameboy tho. NOW WE NEED HM64!!!!!!!!!¡
WOOOO!! ❤ I played this for the first time when I was 12, and was hooked on farming sims ever since! I am so happy to see this get ported to NSO, and I really hope HM64 gets ported over.
Thanks for the tip❤
I played this back in the day, but I was too young to understand it. So I just walked around and didn’t understand the game. But technically it was my first harvest moon game 😂😂
this game is about as old as I am, so it's my first time playing! I really enjoy simple farming. So far I'm a little concerned about having to ship items one at a time… Also, I had a bug where my tool disappeared forever after switching it! Luckily I figured it out early so I could keep my tools, but I lost my free grass seeds 😢😅
Sweet did they fix the dialog when you sell a Chicken he calls it a cow LOL
I want a true harvest moon 64 remaster. more than any other game.
I wonder how the trademark battle worked out between Marvelous and Natsume for this. I didn't think we'd see any ports of OG Harvest Moon because of Natsume.
The gameplay isn't going to hold up to today's standards but I do think the pixel art still holds up today. <3
It's so cool that they released this for Switch. I'm tempted to give it a try. My first farming game was Harvest Moon 3 as a kid. To this day the fact that playing as a woman gives you a permanent debuff and ends the game when you get married. Hopefully if they re-release that one they'll change that like they have in the more recent games.
i wish they would port it so my save stuff wouldn’t be gone when they get rid of it 😢
I thought harvest moon 64 was released in Japan and not here. ?
Always loved this one but the Game Boy one was my favorite since you could keep playing instead of having a fixed year limit
Wow I was litterally werte thinking about this morning how nice this game used to be … and Now THIS ?!!! It’s a sign!!
Wish mineral town 2003 version can go on. I love it so much my very first game
Its funny that on Saturday I was in a charity shop in my city and saw a 3DS game of this and i'm now playing the Switch classic version of it lol
you're lucky on the switch, you can use save states and rewind. back in my day on the actual snes, this game was TOUGH.
I wonder how this works legally. Did Marvelous and Natsume collaborate on this one?
I remember playing this with my older sister when we little kid
Cool
I totally didn't expect this, I'm so happy that they added this game to Switch online! Harvest Moon 64 was my first game in the series too so I'm really really hoping this means that they'll add it one day too!
was this on gba..? it's been so long 🥹
What I like about this game that I miss from some of the others is that the girls had a special event once you got them to a high enough heart level (e.g. Eve's grandfather getting trapped in the cave). HM64 did something similar where you could visit the girl at her house when she was sick. I'd like to see more interactions like that in future games, especially because you got to see character traits in some of those (like the stuffed horse Gray bought Ann).
It's so weird seeing this game, they don't even have the portraits.
You need to buy a chicken
I always wanted to play the first harvest moon/story of seasons game, im so excited i dont even care its so simple 😂❤
I bought an SNES console to play that game and Tloz a link to the past many years ago. I was so happy to see it's back ❤
