Examining the nature of the beast.

so what happens if a centipede or whatever get trapped with their head poking out?
wouldn't that break the seal so the juices flow out?
is the plant capable of pulling the insect in completely?
i am puzzled
So cool they don't eat insects that pollinate them.
I have alot of venus fly traps if half the bug is sticking out it get indigestion and the leaf will die and It can kill one of it pollinators its a plant it does not know what its eating
there are Carnivours plant nurseries that specialize in growing really nice fly traps. If you were going to do a video on t hem you should have gotten some plants from one of them instead of these sad poor pathetic home depot big box store abominations.
It ate a beautiful spider.
"Hi, I'm just gonna pass through real quick. Pardon m- oh, okay. I guess I'll just stay here." – Spider
How is it that they don't trap their pollinators? How can they tell what's standing in the trap? Or is it that they just don't lure them in?
They eat flys as well no breaking news here
Am i the only one as a kid, thought these things were going to be a much bigger problem in my life than they actually are? 😂

Fun fact: Venus fly traps can’t eat meat
You know what I like about primitive creatures?
They don't feel the need to stab their body parts with metal just to impress their own kind.
But how would they know which bug have they caught
What happens to the bits outside the trap? Do they just fall out
Bee – gets trapped
"YO! Same team, same team!"
next you're gonna say anteaters hate ants
underrated channel, 10/10, like a pack of knowledge in 60 seconds
the irony in the fact that some plants aren't vegan
this video somehow forgot to add HOW they avoid killing their pollinators:
they grow flowers on REEEEALLY long stalks above the traps so the pollinators don’t actually fly too close to the traps.
This is the best and most informative short video on this topic. Thank you well done.
Little know fact: there not from Venus either.
Thank you for this very informative video. I didn’t know most of this, it’s awesome to actually learn something from a video for once.
For those asking, Venus Flower Traps cannot distinguish between prey and pollinators on their traps.
Rather, the Venus Fly Trap has flowers, and those flowers are on long, tall stems that stand far above the traps, minimizing risks to the pollinators. 🎉
So they won't do anything about my fungus gnat problem
They don't create a hermetic seal. They don't create any seal. They barely fully close.
They are not "hermetically sealed." Do you even know what "hermetically" means?
Very sad for that little maggot looking guy. It’s cool that the plant secrete anti bacterial fluids too.
Venus traps are cute real cool but probably not cheap
