Here’s my performance review of Sonic Frontiers on Switch. Let me know what you think and if you’re playing. Mark
Yikes!! Thinking about getting it on Series X instead. Idk how the Switch would run Hogwarts Legacy? Lucky I could able to afford Series X to play these at better frame and visual.
I made sure to get this game on pc so I could get the full experience of this game.
Sega just needs to give up on Sonic in 3D. It's just sad. The last great Sonic game was Sonic Mania when the blue blur was back in his wheelhouse. Why fix what isn't broken? Hard pass on this one for me.
One thing that annoys me about a game that comes out on multiple consoles is when people complain the switch version isn't up to par…it's common sense to know a game won't run a smoothly on switch like other consoles but still choose to buy it for the sake of being portable..you understand what you're getting into and yet still buy the switch version ? Now some people can make the excuse and say that's the only console they have and that's fine but that's not every person who complains
It must feel gross and mental to be so hung up on proformance within videogames. I watched a twitch streamer begun a game they been waiting for.
They spent nearly an hour changing settings. Bumping up frames and resolutions. Fortunately I have never has this issue. I come from the inception of the gaming where simply moving an object with a controller on screen was impressive enough.
Every videogame is a technical miracle by nature. They way gamers today nitpick is very distasteful. My 7 year nephew loves this game already. Witnessing pure innocent joy is what games are meant to do.
It's a shame how so many have forgotten. To each their own as they say.
Turning OFF all the graphics options helped my framerate
540p plus constant pop ins. That’s a real downer…
At this point you can nomlonger deny the lack of RAM…
Guess a successor is inevitable.
But Frontiers and all 2022 releases is still fun.
But the devs cannot do more…
Just want to mention that asset loading in and out and floating platforms despawning is present in all versions even on pc, the draw distance is just poor in general. Same with the static looking rain and some other smaller effects.
This is the first video i've seen of some clear video footage of the switch version in action, its rough but i'm glad the framerate seems stable enough.
Bro said he's basically planting flowers Lmfaooooo I'M Crying
The fact this is running on the Switch at 30 frames per second and looks comparable to the PS5 version is a true crowning achievement for the programmers. It's obvious and expected for it to run better on the PS5 with all that horsepower under the hood. I have both the Switch and the PS5 and I still bought it for the Switch given the fact that it's portable and I can take it anywhere! No regrets. Sure, I'm missing a few things here and there, but hey, I am not complaining!
Switch up, what are the Joy-con's you're using? The link in your description is dead.
We used to care if a game was fun. None of this bothers me in the slightest as I’ve been used to it over the years. These types of things were common in every game and nobody cared.
Well that settles it… Steam version it is.
I thought the game was too easy for my liking
Runs well but looks muddy.
It looks actually better than I expected, but still I will go for the ps5 version. Like with Witcher the result is impressive but the drop in quality is just a little too much. I have enough portable games. Being stuck to my living room from time to time ist okay. I don't need to play every game on the go.
but the draw distance of the rails are like that across all platforms
SwitchUp, I remember chatting with a friend and straight up comparing this game's graphics to a damn PSVITA game due to how it has HD elements, but… That resolution and texture quality, best way to compare it is if Borderlands 2 on vita KEPT A STEADY 30FPS. It may look terrible, but… Considering the hardware and power of the system. It's passable or impressive..
but what if yoi can get the switch version for free and you have to pay for the ps5 version? 😂
also, switch is portable and you can play it at work
looks like a cool game to play
im thinking about picking this up for ps5 or series x i always loved sonic games growing up
Wow. This is friggin horrible.
Sonic The Hitchcock! Hilarious! deserves a thumbs up just for that alone! Thanks for the laugh and top review.
When will they realize that Sonic only really works as a 2D game?
I was watching a ps5 review (gameranx) and that version also has the disappearing assets popping in and out of view about the same distance as the switch
Digital foundry showed that the draw distance pop in are present on every platform even a modern PC. Yeah it looks like shit but it s playable and enjoyable
This is ridiculous. 540p in 2022? Nintendo NEEDS to release a switch 2 that’s more powerful already ffs. I love my switch but it’s so goddamn weak. 540p is such a joke smh
This game will sell like hotcakes on Switch so I doubt SEGA will make any massive improvements to the game.
Informative! How does this stack up to low to mid range PC specks? MY PC is arguable worse than the Switch, so I am unsure which platform to go for.
Some of the graphics issues are disappointing and distracting in my opinion. We're desperately in need of a new Switch. Developers can only do so much with hardware this old. 🤷🏿♂️
Runs smooth as butter on PC
No frame dips at all and looks beautiful.
one of the worst sonic games ever made
