“I just started pulling the trigger”: Former extreme skier Dean Cummings took the stand Monday and testified about how he shot Guillermo Arriola. Cummings claimed the shooting was in self-defense, alleging that Arriola attacked him. “Dean you’ve got to get serious about this if you’re going to be a father any longer,” Cummings said recalling the moment he decided to shoot Arriola.

Have to remember the victim had a can of spray. Sounds extremely rehearsed and why were there so many shots
Had he not brought out a gun it could have been just a fist fight but this guy is making a ridiculous story sound even more ridiculous
He seems believable
If I am fighting a guy with a rifle . . . I'm dropping that canister . . . to get both my hands on that rifle!!! Who fights for his life . . . with one hand on a barrel anyways? And who decides to negotiate the deal of his dreams . . . with someone who is scowling . . . BS
20:30 Re scoped and sighted the gun before his target arrived.
This guy is so meticulous . . . he covers ALL bases . . . logically . . . in less than 30min . . . WoW
He seems believable. Good idea to testify.
No one asked how his rifle got from his trailer and into the victim’s.
Watched his cross examination, then you realized this is rehearsed and wasnt making sense on cross
Okay so this guy trespassed on someone else's property went into the other guys trailer the guy who owned the trailer defended his property and this guy shot him
This is the worst self-defense case I've ever seen prosecutors put on.
The prosecution keeps opening the door for more and more damning evidence about Mr. Arriola to be brought in. For example, when the prosecutor was cross-examining a defense witness who was maced by Mr. Arriola, the prosecutor asks 'was this the only time you've seen Mr. Arriola mace someone?" (expecting the witness to answer 'no')… But the witness answers YES lmao.
Prosecution is digging their own grave. Some other great examples: how about when they asked Dean about how often he sees his kids??? So unprofessional and obviously not relevant. THEN, prosecution also brings up the fact that the defendant fact didn't speak to them before the trial … which is his constitutional RIGHT… smh.
I have no idea why this case was ever brought to trial. 0 evidence for the prosecution and A LOT of evidence pointing towards Mr. Arriola being the aggressor. Self-defense cases are usually contentious, but this one is going to be a clear-cut NG verdict.
What kind of defense attorney doesn't object to any of these questions about what he thought about his alcohol or cocaine usage.
This is horrible legal representation.
This Dean Cummings is so brilliant the way he told the story of what happened there's no way they can convict him. He painted a picture that Dean Cummins painted a picture that the other guy came after him and intended to kill him. So Dean Cummins had to do what he had to do for his family and he didn't want to die. So he had to pull the trigger to save his own life. It really makes me think that his story makes a lot of sense whether he's telling the truth or not I believe him.
The prosecution has no theory of the case – just that they want to convict someone.
Good on him….needs a medal..
Guilty
I listened to this, but whose house is it. Missed that part.
He "started" pulling the trigger like it was a slow-moving, step-by-step evolutionary process that took place over centuries 🤣
If it turns out that Putings… I mean Cummings is lying here, I will be VERY surprised.
He says he called him a scammer. Wait……the property owner can set whatever price he wants. Is it possible that Cummings was low-balling the price to an insulting level and THAT started the altercation? Even just from this testimony he indicates that he was being very persistent towards Arriola. Some might call it aggressive in his negotiations. The question is, just HOW aggressive did Cummings get?
"Why did you have the gun out at this incident?"
"I was adjusting the scope."
……with a 30 round magazine inserted????? Red flags and sirens going off. Nose growing.
Dean is a straight up guy, hope he gets off and moves on with his life.
Why is your rifle in his trailer? Can’t prove what happened but it is very fishy.
Good use of photos but can tell they went over it to make his story fit.
Decent prosecutor would have much better job. It would have been easy to tie things together but they are so incompetent
I stopped watching because it was painful. Did see this and wanted to see how he would do on stand. He did ok.
Self defense 2nd ammendment
Oh yes, shoot at an unarmed man to 'defend' yourself 11 bullets…right self defense. I don't care if someone is fighting you which I doubt happened, you still have no right to KILL. Hope he goes to prison for a long time, too bad he didn't do this in Texas where we have capital punishment. He was in a mental institution for two years after the shooting before he was deemed capable of standing trial, said Mr Arriola put a chip in his brain!!!
Mr. Cummings had moved out of his 5th wheel into Mr. Arriola's private mobile home on the property without permission. Mr. Arriola went to the property to tell him to get out of his trailer and move back into his 5th wheel.
I wanted to say THANKYOU…I had to stop video of the trial mid prosecutor closing AND when I opened you tube there it was I Was able to watch it in entirety..🙋🏻♀️ ⚖️
Love you page!! ⚖️😎
Great witness…Too good? I don't know, but the prosecution is terrible. They make Marcia Clark and Chris Darden look competent. I NEVER thought he'd take the stand, but in my opinion it was a good move. If he's innocent this is an awful story.
Seems like Arriola’s character and past behavior would be relevant for the jury to figure out if Cummings’ portrayal is consistent with previous behavior. Is he a violent guy?
the way he looked down after catching himself saying he left the gun on the table and then against the wall right after lol
14:44 "Dean you gotta get serious about this…" He repeated the script from 13:30… These lawyers are good, but nobody talks to themselves in the third person when in stress… so the script is not believable.
Usually one wouldn't go washing themselves after such an altercation, I understand putting water in the eyes but doing a full wash and new clothes bit strange????
Why on earth would be get a stranger to come with him, I'm surprised he went there after him and I'm not surprised he legged it, probably thought he be next
