My first national overview for one of the new dominions 6 factions. This is one of the coolest new factions, tons of really interesting things they can do!

This nation is definitely super cool, I love all the foreign recruit stuff. Illwinter has gotten better about designing troops that all have uses too, I feel like in Dom 3 these guys would have like 7 troop types with slightly different armor. I definitely found the cub warriors to be useful as sort of ablative armor for your other troops, they honestly do more damage than a lot of militia type troops and they are great for sieges too.
My first game in Dominions multiplayer, i played as Nid. I went awake Ethereal bless and it expands like crazy. I absolutely ruined my machaka neighbor around turn 12-14 (50 or so larger + regen black hunter spiders).
Problem was, Ulm showed up with a large stack of guardians which were about as hard of a counter as you can get. I was able to cheese out a few fatigue plays with curse of stones + swarm, but i couldn't amass enough can openers to really defend.
Nid really does have a lot of magic options for early game cheese though, which you are quick to find out when backed into a corner.
33:34 I'm surprised the cub warriors dont evolve into the various "tribe" warriors. Their description seems like it's a right of passage to getting to a real "tribe".
Also does this walkthrough mean you're going to do your first multiplayer Dom6 for us? I really do miss those.
Something that would have been cool to show is Twiceborn a Crow Clan Seithberender, the have it Cloud Trapeze/Teleport onto a big army, Cast Wind of Death, then Returning, watch the Ulmish cry.
I would love more cool thematic non-mage commanders that are reasonably available (both nation specific and summonable). Even off the top of my head, things like hyper skilled archers, hugely armored dudes covered in spikes, a ball of poisonous vines, regenerating ghosts with fear, elementals – the possibilities are endless. There's a bit of this already if you're willing to burn a gift of reason or divine name, but that puts the cost a bit higher than desirable… maybe making those spells a lot cheaper would be another option…
Bakskin, Tangle vines, web, animate tree, gift of cat eyes, gift of the serpent, gift of the hare, Proud steed, envenom arrows, poison darts, maggots, healing touch, heal…. There are a a lot of good/decent spells that nature one mages can do…
A fun nation to try for sure. It makes sense while dom is low early to have the first few parties not be sacred recruits until you expand later. You can trade off the Magic/Growth for the O/P if you want also. Even before luck comes online RW+4U+EB+BS is quite good, when you win the battle your undying guys regen up from EB and don't cost a scar even though they proc RW, and RW helps make sure they are killy enough to proc BS which then really turbo-boosts their stats.
In fact what might be super strong would be imprisoned idol of sorcery with something like:
You can also obviously trade Heroism for Undying either way, but the added XP to get stars on the sacred which again live a long time thanks to scars, would also be adding the stats to them, and magic 3 make the little sacred mages super cost effective at research, and one more dom and O1 instead of T2 lets you get more of them, so that's probably even stronger in many ways.
Finally, if you do the eldest dwarf rainbow you can go F4E4B4 with 3 in all the other magic paths except one you leave out (astral? due to duel) and you can do a similar Dom6O1S2H1G2L2M2 (only M2 b/c no idol) and you still have 3 bless points past the RW,4U,EB,BS for either more undying, heroism again, or some other bless with resists (maybe fire for nature barkskin buff) or maybe unaging (for the old mage and also because withering weapons is a pretty hard counter to our guys as you really don't want to pick up afflictions or age to be super old while using the scars – it is true you have some chance to lose afflictions with scars coming back but you really don't want that aging stuff against you).
Also, not sure you covered the mundane leaders but there is only one leader that allows you to do line formations the Nidajarl and the Bear-Clan Cub Mother is unique in that she has tight reign but only on the super cheap bear clan, not on other undisciplined. That ends up not being as helpful as you'd like as even buffed the cubs are pretty bad, but it does let you script them to attack cav as proper lance bait.
This nation SUCKS. It took me about one week of labbing to figure out an effective counter to killing the nidabathed that had a hell bless I ran into in a MP game. Fighting an army with troops with 5 lives each is absolutely evil. The only spells that can kill them despite scar souls are single target. Its an absolute pain to fight them if you don't build for it. This nation gave me gave me dominions ptsd.

These guys kick my ass in MP games. They just won't die.
Think attack, magic weapon and str bless makes the sacreds rather strong.
Feel luck and ethereal body are very good buffs on them.

42:59 you could use the n1 for tangle vine duty. With your high damage units you can trap elves and then splat them in one hit
I wouldn't want to be a scar soul soldier, you lost arm, eye and life and like a cat keep fighting until you die 9 times, must be painful.

Does anybody know what happens to units with scar soul and limp/crippled if they die while marching?

You could aslo do turbocommunion with Soul Vortexed Crow Clan shamans + Sacred Bodyguards + Bear Clan shaman casting regen/heal which is pretty cool
