Assassin's Creed Shadows Delayed…Again – IGN Daily Fix

In today’s Daily Fix:
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been hit with another setback. Ubisoft has announced a new release date of March 20, 2025, roughly a month later than the previous release date of February 14, which itself was delayed from the original release date of November 12, 2024. Ubisoft explained that this was to give the game more time for polish and to implement feedback from the past three months. In other news, Nintendo has announced a new handheld: a LEGO Gameboy. Sorry, it’s not the Switch 2 announcement you were looking for, but could be a cool item for collectors.

Presented by Goosebumps: The Vanishing – Streaming tomorrow on Disney+ & on Hulu until 4/9/25!

  1. The ac fans are outright crazy. They were all in support of Valhalla which was a full blown bloated rpg than that had anything to do with stealth or assassins. But now when they try to add in good parkour and stealth with assassination mechanics they are bashing it.

  2. Polish is always a good thing. The most recent gameplay looks much more refined and better than before. Too many rush games out to meet demands and patch them after the fact. These are games that went through numerous delays and turned out great anyway: The Last of Us, Space Marine 2, Breath of the Wild, Team Fortress 2, Alan Wake, Mafia II, LA Noire, Resident Evil 4, and numerous others. Assassin's Creed Shadows is going to benefit from this. Mark my words.

  3. It's good that they're postponing it again (but not too much anyway), if the teams need these few extra weeks it's for the good of the game AND the players. Better for it to be delayed than buggy to the bone. What Marc-Alexis Côté says is very encouraging, Ubisoft is listening to feedback and it's a very nice step forward. Journalists and influencers will be able to play Shadows next week, this is very good news and it will give Ubisoft time to improve (without crunch), so this delay is good news and it's a good strategy in the end

  4. maybe the extra month will give them the chance to put the actual game on the disc this time. i know multiplayer/live service games update so much so you end up with a boot disc but single player games should be playable from straight off the disc

  5. Why Ubisoft stopped developing good games similar to old Assassin's Creed games, Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Asaassin's Creed III, and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag? These games were so much fun

  6. A Black person as the protagonist in a game set against a Japanese historical background? Yasuke isn't even portrayed as a samurai in history but in Thomas Lockley's fairytale, who disappeared after it was discovered he wrote false interpretations about Yasuke. The game is full of misinterpretations and mockery of Japanese culture, which certainly makes it look so 'promising'. Make sure they know who are their TARGET AUDIENCE, those bunch of creeps wont even buy this game.
