The Lore of the Azuremyst Isles | The Chronicles of Azeroth

Gather round, my dear friends, and enjoy the warmth of our company! As your Loremaster, well-versed in the secrets of the lands of Azeroth, I welcome you to the wonders of the Azuremyst Isles, home to the Draenei, who cherish and protect their newfound sanctuary.

Long ago, the Azuremyst Isles were but a part of ancient Kalimdor’s western edge. Thousands of years later, when the Great Sundering tore the world apart with a cataclysmic force unlike anything ever seen before, the isles were cast adrift, isolating its inhabitants.

Today, the isles bear the marks of the Draenei’s arrival, and our path will soon lead us through terrains forever changed by the crash of their grand ship. The new inhabitants, now proud members of the Alliance, work tirelessly to restore balance to their newfound home, where they hope to reclaim the natural beauty of their former splendour.

  1. Good evening, dear adventurers!

Thank you for joining me on my journey through the first of the Azuremyst Isles. Our adventure will continue as we head to the mysterious Bloodmyst Isle, where deeper mysteries and darker tales await.

While we prepare for the next chapter of our quest, I invite you to share your thoughts and favourite moments from Azuremyst Isle. What lore captured your imagination?

Fare thee well, dear explorers, until our paths cross again on Bloodmyst Isle.

    – Your devoted Loremaster

  2. I absolutely love the way you are able to take all these bits and pieces, such as questlines and backstories, and combine them all into a cohesive and immersive written/told story. "Story" doesn't even do it justice, tbh. It's more like a nature/history documentary or something like that, but with the viewer taken into account on a personal level i.e. talking to us from the viewpoint of us being "heroes", instead of "players". Like an ingame documentary instead of just a lore video about a game. I'm absolutely in for it 🙂 Anyway, I'm not that great with words, unlike you, so I hope I get my message across, haha. In any case: Well done and keep going! ❤

  3. Btw… Does anyone remember the Tree Quest with a "stage-prop" tree, instead of the "realistic tree" you get to disguise as nowadays? Not sure when they changed that, but I absolutely loved that fake tree 😂

  5. I remember picking up my first ever Draenei Shaman. Landing on the Azuremyst Isles and immediately fell in love with the area. It was so different from the rest of Azeroth, yet ift felt like it fitted right in. I felt a sense of wonder and excitement that I hadnt felt since I first entered the world. There was something beautiful, yet melancholic about the zone. Maybe it was the music? maybe it was the visuals? I still felt like I was belonging there with the rest. Fighting for survival and helping in a dire situation. This zone is just soo amazing it's always hard to leave and I also think that the zone itself was one of the big reasons why I became a jewelcrafter, so I got an excuse to come back to Exodar again and again.

  6. 16 years, I can't believe that it has been 16 years since I started playing this game, and it all started here, playing on my Draenei hunter, not sure how to play, meeting new friends along the way lol
