Ape Canyon Encounter

On the southeast shoulder of Mount St. Helens in the state of Washington, along the edge of the Plains of Abraham, there is a gorge called Ape Canyon. The area was given its name after a 1924 encounter after five prospectors stumbled out of the woods telling a story about an encounter they allegedly had with β€œapemen”. This is the Ape Canyon Encounter.

  1. My buddy and I seen one in the Huron national forest about 20 years. It was at night about 11pm and it was standing on the side of the road peeking out of the brushline. Out in the middle of nowhere. It looked at our headlights then looked down the road behind us. The comical part is neither of us said a word, then about a mile down the road my buddy goes ''hey…did you see something back there?'' And I replied '''yeaaah….I did'' he described exactly what I saw and vice versa. He and I never mentioned it to anyone, and weirdly never talked-about it again. At first I thought it was a guy with a beard, as we got closer, this thing had hair around its eyes, but the eyes were man like and it was very tall.

  2. Reminds me of a story I read years ago about a man that claimed in the 1920s he was abducted by a family of Bigfoots ( or Bigfeets? Plural ) He stayed with them a week or so and ended up giving the big male daddy Bigfoot some snuff that made it sick and he was able to escape. I think it was suppose to take place in Canada …..like I said I read it years ago ( like 35 years or more ) so I am going by memory. I cant remember the guys name, but he did not tell his story for like 30 years after it happened. I think I read it in Readers Digest but not certain.
Im pretty Skeptical of Bigfoot though. I think after all this time there would be physical evidence not just foot prints. Some hunter would have shot one by now.

  4. Fred said that when the bigfoot reached through and grabbed the axe all he did in response was to turn it so it could not be pulled through the hole. The bigfoot pulled it a few times, then let it go. It was a quick decision he said he made instinctively. When it let go of the axe, Fred picked it up and placed it near the fireplace, out of reach. There was no "wrestling" for the axe in any way. One of the things they normally leave out of this story is that they shot at one of the creatures and that is what provoked the attack that night, but this video does tell us that. The rocks that came in from above came down through the stone chimney, not a hole in the roof. The rock hit the floor with such force it bounced and hit one of the men. The men said over the years they had seen these things before at a great distance, but this final stay at their mining camp, the creatures had kept coming closer and closer and they were scared. All those years of working and they finally made a gold strike…bu then this happened and they never returned.
