  1. I believe the inspiration for this song came from them watching the 1978 World Cup, which was in Argentina. They were inspired by the Latin Samba rhythms that they heard.

  3. Unfortunately their worst album, I remember the day it was released in 79 and this was played on the radio non stop.
    I was like"wtf is this?"
Did not like it at all.
I grown to like it, but it's nowhere near the previous 8.
Not saying it's a bad album per se, but comparatively.
    But to each their own.

    Get better, Nick!

  4. Led Zeppelin were nothing if not versatile. They took a real beating from the critics when the album this came from came out and although it's far from being my favourite of their's, it's not a bad album in my opinion.

  5. Superb track, even if the ' critics' panned the whole album. Keep looking into them, as Zep will surprise you at every turn. Bron – Y – Aur Stomp, That's The Way, Gallows Pole, Friends, and not forgetting the mighty Kashmir !! Best wishes Nick.

  10. This was the last album of Zeppelin and Plant's voice had changed a lot. He could no longer sing like he did early on so this was basically his new voice. Years of smoking, drinking and singing while sick along with some surgeries changed his sound a lot. By a certain point he couldn't go up high with any kind of power liked he used to. They started in '68 and even by '72 his voice was quite different.

  11. Alleged;y this album was written largely by JPJ and Plant, as Bonham was deeply in his bottle and Page was deep into his heroin addiction. It is also alleged Bonham and Page hated it.
Personally, I think is is among their best, both as to their playing and musically. Bonham is certainly at the top of his game in this.

  12. Thereโ€™s a great isolated drum track of this on YT. The Purdie Shuffle. Popularized by the legendary Bernard Purdie. Other songs using it around the same time, with Bernard drumming included Home at Last and Babylon Sisters by Steely Dan and Rosanna by Toto.
