9 Years of Shadows is an emotionally-driven pixel art Metroidvania where you play as Europa who is fighting against a plague that has cursed the land. The entire experience is enhanced with “Healing Music” which I’ve learned is music tuned to 432 Hz. The music has also been composed folks involved in Castlevania (Michiru Yamane), Mega Man (Manami Matsumae), and Metal Gear Solid (Norihiko Hibino). The game itself has been developed by Halberd Studios based out of Guadalajara, Mexico and this is their first release!
9 Years of Shadows released on March 27th, 2023 and is available on Steam and Epic with plans for a Nintendo Switch release in Q3 of 2023!
