9 Years of Shadows – 10 – pastorale

yeah like the game *is* pretty linear for an exploration game but honestly I genuinely don’t mind at all. I like kind of always having a clear idea of where I want to go if I want progress, you know?

  1. Note to self: Do not hold important talks in rooms with auto-sealing bulkheads if I want those to end in peace.

Shame this game's plot is so far quite unmemorable (or is it just me?). The mechanics are solid and the artwork has a lot of strength to it.

  2. Yeahhh like I like the idea of KS backer bosses in theory, but most of the time they come off like ‘oh man I’m both visually and lore-wise not from around here, let’s battle because of misunderstandings!’ and it’s ick.

  3. Half expecting a game where protagonist hero and rando clueless nice guy get locked in a boss room. No boss shows up. No reasoning, all of the sudden, the bgm goes MORTAL KOMBAT with the kickin battle music. Neither character really knows wtf. Maybe after a point, the game will get bored and unlock the door? Or will player 1 have to do his thing?

(1:24) Huh, the camera is interfering with the intended shot there?
(1:59) That time you got it to work by jumping to keep your shot in view. Seems like a weird oversight in the design there.
(2:35) Howdy, Issa. How's it going?
(3:14) Sorry, but Europa's armor is not for sale.
(3:27) Alright, it's boss time, vs. Issa!
    (4:41) Victory!
(4:58) Well, at least it was less than 3 minutes worth of time that was wasted.
(7:22) Ooh, this is your fifth red note, right? Now you can finally upgrade your vitality.
(11:06) Alright, it's boss time, vs. Jay Leno! 😛
(11:16) Tomator? This game is now part of All the Lost Vikings. 😛
(12:13) Whoa, that stop effect when you got hit by the charged-up tomato toss.
    (12:21) Victory!
