  1. I thought Helhiem Was manipulated by Christians and it’s not actually a dark gloomy cold place, it’s just a resting place for people that didn’t die in battle. You still carry on with life in the realm and you’re protected by Hel the Goddess of death.

  2. Some of them aren't actually worlds.. or realms..

Like Asgard.. was just a "garden" Asgard means garden of the asier..

And "heim" means "Home" and was likely just country ish sized. So some places aren't mentioned on here..
And Vellir, just means Valley.. which also wasn't world sized.. so it's likely some places Like Vaneheim and Svartelfheim and Alfheim, were actually in the same world.. just different parts of the same place
Cos Alfheim means Home of the Elves Alf is like "Elf kind" meaning ALL ELVES.. Svartelfheim means Home of the Short Elves and Niflheim was Home of the Night Elves aka Dark Elves… etc

And apparently Asgard was just above Jotunheim.. above the clouds.
And they built it high to evade the sneaky shape shifting Jotuns.. but also.. it's rumoured to have been built for Odin, by the Jotun giants called the Jotnar.. the most powerful of all Jotuns, when they were at peace.
And Odin uses Elf magic to use the deads Hugr or "spirit" to transform into a form of elixir which helped them live forever. That's what the light is on their bridge.. it's Dead spirits traveling into Asgard.. like Star dust.

  3. This shits confusing as hel
Different sources say helhiem isn't a realm but part of niflhiem, and svartalfheim and nidavellir and two separate realms, whereas other sources say they are 2 names for the same realm

  4. if vikings thought , once they die in battle they go to Valhalla and join up with Odin and the other Aesir. Where do people from the other realms go?
Where do people from Midgard go, when they die of age, but not from battle?
Where is the connection in this mythology to our own world?
    is it all spirit?
I know it sounds weird , but if Atlantis was there, a great Kingdom with 10 other kingdoms. maybe Atlantis and Asgard are kinda the same? just put into mythical perception? I mean , world wide mythologies seem to have the same common source. I wish I knew the truth about this all….

  5. I don't think the Light of Alfheim is a thing in Norse Mythology. The Conflict between Light and Dark Elves, maybe, but not the Light of Alfheim. This is clearly a misconception from God of War.
