Pandemic is one of the most prolific co-op games in the hobby today…some could even argue that it’s defined the genre in modern board gaming. Played most of these and easily our favorite pandemic-like, and probably also forever keep, is the Thunderbirds board game with its expansions by the same designer. None of us have even watched the show, yet we love the game.
Our replacement pandemic is Return to Dark Tower.
There’s also Tesseract, but I hear you gave it away to some jerk. I wonder who that is?
Atlantis Rising and Return to Dark Tower are also on my list.
Don’t forget about Starwars clone wars.
The Loop is one of the best experiences Pandasaurus has put in a box…. I love it.
Horrified is the Pandemic of choice for my family, although to be fair we've never played any of the Pandemics! I have a couple of the Hot Zone ones and the Loop, want to give those a try soon
Spirit Island is one my favourite games of all time but the loop gets my vote for a pabdemic like experience just better. SI is too many levels above pandemic especially with expensions. Although i will say horizon of SI is a solid game too.
That reminds me of the days where every video that mentions something related to a pandemic in a video was demonetized.

Pandemic is the OG that brought our family down this wonderful rabbit hole. Definitely agree Iberia is my fav standalone version. Some more recommendations, since you asked:
Similar, but I’d rather just play Pandemic:
-Forbidden Island/Desert. Haven’t played Sky or Island
-Flash Point (just mentioning again because I agree with your note on the randomness; wasn’t a great fit for me)
A swell change of pace:
-Atlantis Rising
-Castle Panic (simpler and kid-friendly)
-Burgle Bros.
-Marvel United
-Peacemakers: Horrors of War – this one’s brand spanking new and wonderful
Spirit Island is my all time favorite; certainly a couple notches up in difficulty as you note but very rewarding

I can also recommend Dutch Resistance: Orange Shall Overcome for a very thematic, Pandemic-like game. You're members of the Dutch Resistance in Nazi occupied Netherlands. You have to make your way around the board trying to complete your goals, and the occupying forces (Nazis and sympathisers) try to uncover you and your safe houses. The pledge manager for the newer version has yet to open, so I expect anyone interested will be able to late pledge when it's open.
I would include the Star Wars version, Clone Wars! I think it is the best Pandemic.
Recently played Flashpoint with 6 players. The start was brutal. Looked like we would lose in a couple rounds. But we snatched victory at the very, very last moment. It was such a great experience. It was Flashpoint at its best.
