7th grader jumps into action to save bus driver and fellow students | ABC News

A Michigan 7th grader is being commended for jumping into action after a school bus driver suffered a medical emergency.

The student, identified as Dillon Reeves to ABC News by his parents, noticed the bus driver was “in distress,” according to a statement from Warren Consolidated School District Superintendent Robert D. Livernois. Dillon “stepped to the front of the bus and helped bring it to a stop without incident.”

“I could not be prouder of his efforts,” Livernois said.

  1. What an amazing kid! New lesson for him. He needs to just point at one person and say "you call 911!" That way you know someone is calling and the dispatcher isn't overwhelmed if they all call.

  2. He did absolutely everything right. Way to take the lead on this and ensure everyone, including the driver, was okay. These situations are scary, they're not like the movies.
He is going to be a leader someday

  3. You never know how you'll react in these situations until you're in them. I found out at a young age that I happen to be good in emergency situations and have gone on to save several lives and I have a feeling this kid will do the same. #hero

  4. Gave me the chills. What an amazing young man. His parents should be very proud. He stayed calmed. He knew or did what I would have done as an adult. Good job young man!
