Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted 😉

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer 🙂

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

  1. Love you get to test these things.

That tent was a disaster.. how can it cost 3000 dollars😂😂…the MASSIVE hand pump and missing small electric pump was hilarious ..in a sad way!

Having to recharge after 24hrs is crazy.. you didn't seem to have done much to already been down to 38%.. thats what put me off electric.. i drive 14 hrs.. over 1000miles in one day trip to go home.. queuing and taking so long to change an electric car would add so much time to the journey.

Love that you broke the tent leg, couldn't unzip the tent etc.. in the first night!… sounds like quality manufacturing.. not!

  2. It's obvious Tesla is in the business of building electric cars, not tents. So it's obvious the Basecamp was an afterthought. Which means that Tesla has opened a market for someone to create a Basecamp for the Cybertruck that will do it proud.

  3. I have been following you since almost the very beginning. If there was something special and different from you compared to the “the rest” was your original content, those everyday little things that were representing our life also. Visiting places, doing it the difficult way. This is surely an interesting video but it belongs to another planet and I somehow notice a bit of change in this period. Less original content and more bombastic one. You might not care about one opinion most probably but I believe you should go back to the origins. That is the reason why we always have liked you and your videos, not this. With all do respect for Tesla 🙂

  4. I am shocked by that tent 🙊 Surely they'll upgrade them. We have a roof top tent that cost just under $3000AUD, it has solar panels, 3 outlets + 2 usb ports with lights around the inside & it literally pops up within 20 seconds 🤯 i am shocked that Tesla has created such a mediocre tent 😂
    love you guys!

  5. That has got to be the most hideous tin can vehicle I have ever seen….. I wonder if some of the interest in checking it out is sort of like the curiosity people would have of getting a close look at the Elephant Man.

  6. Love you guys to death. Living in this area, it is a courtesy to go slow on the dirt roads around here. Getting up to 70mph on one absolutely destroys the hardpack and washboards the road. The county doesn't grade all of the roads here, and a lot of the time, the residents are responsible for the maintenance (and it can cost big money if you have to rent a tractor). Just a tip if you ever come back out this way. The locals are quick to scream, "Go back to L.A.!" at tourists, and this is one of the reasons why. They destroy stuff and leave it to the locals to fix it or clean it up. Again, I adore you guys and know that isn't your intention. This is just some friendly advice.

  7. Being in a futuristic Tesla, with an exoskeleton developed with SpaceX, then randomly seeing a SpaceX launch unknowingly, is peak irony. 😉

Great review of the primary use case of this tent, and like all Tesla products, don’t be surprised by the upcoming improvements they’ll include soon based on your feedback. Good stuff!

  8. I love you guys but I miss the more relatable content and things that normal ppl can do. It seems like everything lately is for extremely rich people or influencers instead of your average viewer. I liked things that I could do too haha makes it more interesting

  9. Forget all of that dudes nonsense making coffee just start the video at about five minutes and 35 seconds. That lady gives an explanation of what the videos about everything before that is just a waste of time.
