Just wait till you see what I use on the paint to clean it up. I found this frameset and wheels at the bike swap in St. Charles IL this winter. I finally get around to building it up. I had to clean up the paint, repack the hubs and go to my stash of parts to build it up. It looks excellent and it was a lot of fun to film and build. Please check out my other builds and projects on my page! God Bless!

I am going to buy Mr clean magic.
Thank you for your videos.
Look forward to seeing the build up in part 2. What group set is to go on. Period correct or a retro mod ?
Great tips on restoration.
It always feels good to transform a frame from grungy to shiny! Cleaning a Campy Record hub is good too…. as long as you don't find a pitted cone or cracked cup! I did have to replace a cup in a used Campy hub once, due to a crack. It's provided good service since then, though. As for Mr. Wood… I don't know much about him either. The company makes great stuff and provides good service, though.
re: dust caps, I have used a large socket and a soft mallet to set the caps. Go easy, they pop back in. Thanks for the video, please do more. If we figure out Phil Wood the next one to investigate is JD Power. No one knows JD Power.
Hey John great video
I think it's pronounced
Fray use..
Looking forward to part 2.
All the best!
Thanks for another great one John!
The magic eraser supposedly works on grungy brake hoods as well, although I havenโt tried it yet. I saw someone use it and the hoods looked great. Your product worked well on the frame. You could see the shine. I use Phil Wood on all my bikes but have not research him.
Another great video John. ๐๐
Many ppl use T-cut or Autosol but have to say that Mr Clean Magic Eraser did a great job. One to remember.
Yes do a Viscount video.
Hi John, I actually used to work for Phil Wood, during the time he ran and owned the company in Los Gatos, CA. He made hubs and bottom brackets as well, and as far as I know, was the first manufacturer of U.S. made sealed hubs and bottom brackets. That was in the early 1970s. The company now has a great web site, worth checking out.
Yep, Magic Sponges work really well for cleaning up dirt and minor matting. I have even used them on an anodized Blackburn rack that looked horrid with really good results.
Please do a Viscount video. I remember these bikes from the mid 70โs.
I would like to see a video on the Viscount!
How much is a complete stock 1960s freshie worth?
