I have mixed feelings on all these movies. The original series ended so perfectly that I don't see why the Resurrection film couldn't have been set during that time skip right after Lelouch took over Britainnia but before taking the UFN Council hostage. But the new designs for characters (Cecile and Sayako) and the way Lelouch beats Shamna was awesome.
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this. This was so fun to watch and your comments paired with the editing had me wheezing. I just love this movie. A lot of references completely slipped me. Nice to see a lot from Oz the Reflection, so hopefully more people get curious.
The clear, cheeky cart driver theory reference from them was great. Besides the Lelouch/C.C. references, Lelouchβs return has to be my favourite. The music in that scene gave me goosebumps and made me think of a comment I read saying if Lelouch was a card, he'd have a resummon condition of sacrificing C.C. in the battlefield. Three times now. Maybe one day C.C. will stop absorbing bullets.
It is good that they have created another universe because the original series ended in an epic way and the picture dramas that give details for the series especially the last so-called miraculous birthday was a nice way to close the series well and I hope that the new series z of the recapture does connect to the universe of the movies. In addition, the events of Renya of Darkness, Akito the Exiled and Oz the Reflection part 1 and 2 also happened in the universe of the movies, something that I also liked, well, it is my personal opinion and that is what I managed to understand.
