Talk about NOPE right in the beginning. Um, NO I'm not going in there….Oh my, this looks very like my current map. I think you've got Joel up here. If it is the same map it is AWESOME and I like it. It's hard to remember early on to pick up ruddy EVERYTHING and try selling it. If ever you're really really stuck and need a hand, let me know – I might be able to tell you where something is.
My first POI that I took over was that apiary right on the corner south of Joel. Stayed there for quite a while, fixed up the house, very nice.

For your lag concerns, make sure the Dynamic Mesh Option is Disabled (in one of the tabs in Video Settings), and in "Options" "Video", the following turned off : V-sync, Reflexion Quality, and Motion Blur. You can also put View Distance on 10. That should help. There's more to change if this isn't enough.

But maybe you should start on a fine flat roof, until you've gathered enough materials to be able to build a big enough one? There should be a commercial zone on the outskirts of the city, if I remermber correctly, North/North-East I'd say, with some diners etc. with massive walls and flat roofs. So you could start your horde base in a nice spot while remaining safe elsewhere.
I knew about the church 😀 so I was very interested to watch how it would go xDD and a bit concerned too, tbh 🙂 ! You did good, especially in this hallway! Was just wondering if you would spot the zombie in the bell tower before it fells on you or not 😀

Great start Radio. I usually get rid of the trash. Cleans the streets and gives you plenty of polymer and paper. Also stops you re-scanning the empty trash when passing, cheers 😎

Giving yourself an item at the beginning of a series isn’t a mod…. You simply press F1…. Type cm… hit esc…. Bring up the item menu with U… search for the item and grab one…. Close the menu…. Press F1…. Type cm… and escape out of the command line. It’s standard vanilla functionality. It doesn’t change your game play at all.
Hordes are based on gamestage, not number of days. Also, if you build a passive bass, then it's immaterial, they don't ramp up until you kill them, then the new horde spawns get bumped to your stage.
