7 Days Solo on Isle Royale- Camping, Canoeing & Fishing Remote Waters

In this episode, join me as I begin a 7 day solo trip to the remote waters of Isle Royale. Located nearly 60 miles north of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, Isle Royale is found in the northwest corner of Lake Superior. With the main island being close to 50 miles long, this national park provides one of the last great wilderness retreats in the US lower 48. Between amazing wildlife, scenery, feisty fish and gnarly waters, this is an action packed episode that won’t disappoint!

Thank you for watching and for your continued support!

  2. Your best one yet, by far ! Been to Isle Royale 2 times. Both trips were 12 day trips. Your video is the absolute best Isle Royale segment I have ever seen ! If you get back up there & hike to any of the inland lakes, you have to give Lake Richie a try. The best pike fishing I have ever seen ! Also, if you go later in the summer you can load those pancakes up w/ Thimbleberries ! I was really surprised that you did not catch any Coaster Brookies. Thanks for sharing, this really brought back some great memories, especially seeing some places that I stayed at .

  3. Kyle this production quality is amazing. I love Isle Royale and the UP and am so happy to see you documenting it this way! As an avid fisherman and camper, I only get a couple these types of trips a year with college, so I live vicariously through you. Thanks for the videos that I’ve watched many times and keep me motivated when I can’t be out there. Cheers from Grand Rapids.

  5. Happy to see your back on! Love the canoe! I have had tons of childhood memories from the Rogue River and as an adult fighting fire in the Rogue National Forest and fishing the Rogue from Gold Beach all the way to I-5! I would love to take my wife up there and canoe, camp and fish all day! Thanks for sharing! Nothing like that down here in South Central Texas.

  6. Isle Royale is so underrated! I've hiked it but have yet to do a canoe trip. You should do a BWCA trip! (Minnesota). I got back from a 9 day trip a month ago and the walleye, pike, and small mouth fishing is superb. One of the most quiet and secluded trips I have ever been on.

  7. 110% legit! Great video, good for you and thanks for sharing. I mean it, great quality. I did Isle Royale for a week after I graduated high school, fished, and swam all the inland lakes, it was a blast. As for a next trip the Les Cheneaux islands or Manitou would be cool. I did just get back from fishing Lake of The Woods, you could do the Northwest Angle no problem!!
