7 Days on a Tiny Island with Europe's Smallest Club

Welcome to Hidden Grounds, we hope to make this a series telling the story of places and clubs around the world that we find interesting. It’s a big world and we want to make it smaller by humanizing everything. I certainly humanized the Faroe Islands for myself after this trip.

I cannot begin to express my appreciation to everyone we interacted with in the Faroe Islands and in Klaksvik. We had exclusively good experiences and I think that comes off in the episode. Thank you for welcoming us in to tell your story. If you like this video and want us to do more, let me know, this is the test to see if this is something we should do more of in the future.

All Love,
Zealand

  1. One of your best videos ever. Captured the warmth of the people so well. Things like community really feel in short supply these days. Internet communities may be communities, and just as warm as real life ones, but they're often ephemeral, flawed and finite. This, if anything, is real.

  2. Great video! Well researched, planned and produced. Lots of thought went into it and that’s admirable. Not many men go from football manager simulators to watching European football in the Faroes. Love this content

  3. I visited the Faroes last year to visit an old friend of mine. While I live in a small town and I can't wait to move out next year to a bigger town/city, because I feel restricted and bored where I live, he lives on Suðuroy and rather wants to stay there than even Tórshavn. Tórshavn is too big for him, which buggles my mind. He rather wanna stay on Suðuroy with all his friends and community. I felt the last part of this video. You do feel that "jealousy" of the communities they have up there.

  4. Football on the Faroe Islands really is special! Passion, dedication and family-like communities. People working for their football club everyday, simply for the love of their team!

KÍ we’ll get you next year :*

  6. We are used to this in other countries in europe but in the 3rd or 4th tier. To have this happen in a group stage team is truly unheard. Almost like it was a FM save made up to be real. Great work zealand.
