  1. thanks for the shoutout for my social media. I loved watching you guys work through the Flair development and Richard revealed a few of my secrets on accident. I did not expect such a high score, thanks for the review guys appreciate you.

  2. "Honour, eh? What the hell is that anyway? Every man thinks it's something different. You can't drink it. You can't fuck it. The more of it you have the less good it does you, and if you've got none at all you don't miss it." 😏😏

Though the one that won is really amazing so congratulations πŸ”₯ …. Even though the "scales are weighted" 🀣

  3. Hey guys! Appreciate you reading and discussing my story idea!

I think all of your criticisms are more than fair. To answer Rich's question, I originally imagined the plot following a gladiator uncovering the mystery as to why the games exist, but I do think that following the king over a long period of time as he becomes more of a villainous figure would be much more interesting.

I am going for some Lovecraftian horror vibes, so I think if I flesh out what exactly the creature is/looks like as well as what specific knowledge it gives to the king, it could be a lot better. Appreciate your honest thoughts and critiques! Hope you guys do more contests like this! πŸ™‚

  4. The series Richard is talking about could be either The Book Of The Sun, The Chronicles of Shannara or the original Dying Earth novel by jack vance itself. I'm talking about a civilisation that undergoes decadence after the peak of their progression and as such the people of the time regressed to a medieval level of awareness for science and nature hence seeing scientific marvels as magical: by wizards or mystical: by some higher power. Could also be none of the above since I don't know that he's (Richard) read any of these 3 lol.

Edit: Not him saying it's Wheel Of Time literally a second later. I kinda feel stupid now lol tho I haven't read that so maybe not entirely stupid just ignorant ig

  5. I’m writing a short story that takes place in the future, but magic exists. The themes kind of revolve around β€œat what point does science outpace magic/faith.” There is a point where there is a massive tonal shift where we find out Gods (or rather devils) exist and it turns borderline Cosmic Horror with some action elements. (it definitely won’t be short)

  6. About the one where you can buy emotions and the suggestion you had for it… I am writing a book and one of the concepts is that there's an artificial race inside the fantasy world, and they can incert cards inside card slots in their neck with different emotions programmed into them. Since emotions are so complex, a card takes a lot of time and effort to make, making them very expensive and hard to get by. That is why the artificial race seems a bit off at times, depending on what and how many cards they have installed. BUT… In one scene in the book, one of the characters who is this artificial race, experience something very sad and goes to a workshop dedicated to fix this race. Think of it as a special hospital. Because of her situation, the mechanic asks if she wants happiness, but she asks for sadness so that she can let out all the frustration and sadness she has been building up inside of her.

I just wanted to mention that since that was so similar to that idea you had and I found that amusing πŸ˜‚ I do agree though… It's a good idea πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

  7. Ooooh yes I love all these emotion-based ideas!! The only book I have ever read which features an emotion-based magic system is The Winds of Strife by UG Gutman (which I HIGHLY recommend btw), and I have been dying for more ever since. So what needs to happen for someone to write these exceptional premises out in a book for me?!?

  8. The pyramids were not made with slave labor. Building a pyramid was a huge economic endeavor for the Egyptians. There is tons of documentation on how the workers were paid, where they lived and we have graves of workers who probably worked on the pyramids. You should research it.
