I love watches. But not all watches. Even with an unlimited budget, there are plenty of brands that would never get my cash. Here are five of them. What about you? Any brands that you detest and why? The comments section is gonna get tasty today! Cheers, Jody

Wearing a watch because another man wears that watch leaves you less of a man. You are not and can never be Steve Mcqueen. Put your balls in a bag fellas. Oh Rolex make huge profit that's because you pay too much for them. If a Chinese man can make a decent copy for £100 then you are paying £10000 for the little swiss logo. I still want one but can't fall into the trap.
I won't spend thousands of dollars for a watch that don't add another hour to my day.
Some Calvin Klein watches are beautiful.
Just buy a watch from the market, it will tell you the time which a watch is meant to do. Who gives a monkeys what is on your wrist.. Poser.

Bremont are based in a old RAF base in Oxfordshire.i went to a jaguar track day there and saw their office
You keep saying the phrases " work with or support this brands" you talk as if you're pumping money directly or indirectly to the business.
You remind me of a local car journalist here in my country, he talks as if the car industry gives a crap about his "craft" and "opinion"
I have a humble Zeon digital watch which has time in 12/24 hours, running seconds, weekday, date and month, hourly chime, alarm, stopwatch and a bright backlight. It is now 26 years old and apart from a couple of replacement straps and a battery change every 4 years or so, is still performing perfectly. Ten grand for a watch ? You gotta be kidding. The only reason these companies make such crazy profits is down to the suckers they see coming a mile away.
Jody, would you consider Victorinox in the same category as the "fashion brands"? They are known for knives, rather than clothing.

2 Hublot
3 Oris
4 Nomos
5. Patek
These selections have nothing to do with quality. Strictly based on aesthetics these particular brands just don’t speak to me.
I'd never buy another G-Shock. Had 3 whilst serving in the army. The plastic and cheap thin steel all broke. The display disappeared at about -10c also. I also owned a TagHeuer watch that literally fell to bits. I don't remember the model. It ended up in the bin. I'd not buy either manufacturer again. I saved and bought an Omega SMP300m. I've had it 3 years and it's a tough watch. Works at -30c no probs and is totally reliable. Cry once and save money.
Any thoughts on Waldhoff Multimatic II?
Do you feel the same way about vintage IWC? I have a classic 1950s bombe lug steel case, stick hands and white dial with original box. I could see it being true because whenever i wear it, no one knows what it actually is. So far someone at the mall asked me if it was a Daniel Wellington 😂 . My uncle liked it and said he'd like one until he realized it's not a $200 understated fashion watch from China.
you cannot say that Bvlgari and Hermes are not making excellent watches.
What do you think about Montblanc? Do you consider that under your “fashion brand” category or it’s another exception like Casio?
Defo fashion brands… My sons gf just bought him a gold and silver Boss watch…. £300 for a quartz watch with a second hand bouncing around all over the place…
I bought a Maserati watch and I’m not gonna lie it’s one of my favorites , how it feels and looks , it was 200$ but feels like a 900$ watch easily
I love my Hublot, I don’t think there’s anything nasty about it.
Iwc portgueser is THE exception
I love my ocean star… but I'm from Latin America 🙂
That Latifi diss 😭🤣
Love RM. haters hate simple as that. I wear what I love. Any entry level watches I se value in and own, Casio duro (daily), Rolex 16610 gifted for a milestone accomplishment and my fathers rate Seiko diver ref 6309-729B
6:40 Had me good.
Wrong about Bremont, but I won't say why because I don't want the prices to spike even more
Mido is not designed for me because I don't live in Latin America……… What a stupid comment. If you don't like Mido design just say so. Nothing wrong with not liking their product.
I agree with all 4. points but 5. I 'd love to own a Luch one-hand watch. price is quite affordable, why not.
I would swap the Mido with Rolex in your list. Rolex touches all arguments given for both Mido and IWC.
Your views on Kenneth Cole and Micheal Kors.
I scored a Commander II because I saw a shopkeeper in Mexico City wearing one and found out they cost about 2 Orient Bambinos after a quick web search. It's going to replace my Seiko diver as my daily-wear.
The fact that they're well known in Central/South America is only a bonus for me since I'm specifically after latinas with daddy issues and dented up altimas and hello kitty knick knacks in they bed rooms
Take my word for it Don't buy a Rolex, they are not worth it
what about mont Blanc
I don’t get the IWC my grandad has one in full gold from 1980s
I couldn’t completely agree with Mido being on the list, they have great history and quality, I own a Mido Commander II Datoday and it’s great(I’m Mexican and yes they are very well placed in this market) the commander is quite popular either classic models from the 70s-90s and for that same reason they reissued the commander heritage which looks the same but has modern specs. But I agree that in some markets they are not well positioned and maybe that’s why they are not very appreciated except in Latin American countries like mexico
I feel like if Jody looked at the tv dial big date mido he might change his mind
Hadn't heard of Meistersinger before this and while I agree they seem too overpriced, I actually kind of like the unique design. I may have to tinker with an NH movement and some Aliexpress parts to see what I can come up with haha
Casio works for me!
Agreed partly except for Mido: the divers are ok
You right about brands known in other stuff like fashion brands but what is your opinion in Victorinox Swiss Army watchs? I think they started with knifes right and not watches. What do you think about this brand?
