U.S. sales are flat while Harley is having a very bad year.
GET RID OF THE POLITICIANS AND LEFTIES UK IS IN A WORSE STATE THAN OZ, FULL OF NONE ENGLISH SPEAKING THIEVES, WAITING FOR THE GOVERMENT TO TELL ME TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE I PAID FOR TO PUT THESE BACKWARD FREAKS IN IT, BUT FREEDOM COMES ON MY BIKES I RIDE THEM EVERY DAY AND HAVE DONE FOR 50 YEARS, GREAT VID LOVE A RANT, Have a great Christmas👍👍👍
Great video
Because electric scooters have become very popular with young people. They're cheap and easy to ride And small and weight in size and are easy to transport around And take into places. Require little to no maintenance If it breaks down it's easier and faster just to buy a new replacement.
Preach brother, preach spitting facts. From a fellow biker in the UK and Spain…the world's gone soft and crazy at the same time
Im in NSW. There's a lot more people on the roads now than even 15 years ago when i had my motorcycle, thanks to a massive increase in immigration and an influx of rude drivers from Sydney relocating to smaller towns. A lot don't know the road rules or even care. Our car has been run into 3 times in the last 10 years. Each person uninsured and unapologetic. Motorcycles don't have a bullbar.
In New Zealand, Registration costs are killing motorcycling. 650cc and up rego is $528.00 per 12 months. Soon to go up to $850.00 ish. Blaming it on accidents but not differenciating between On Road , Off Road (Moto X, Trials), illegal bikes on the street. I know of 2 locally who died riding illegally. The Government don't care. Its a motorcycle accident so we'll just make road riders pay.
Get influencer to show they are cool. Pretty sure you already have it but let us filter and lane split.
Maybe in your country where they regulate the hell out of you…but here ion the Philippines its not like that. Motorcycling is booming mate!, also in other parts of the world.! There are more riders than car drivers. I just don't see what you are saying here. It's not dying…its a necessity here. Maybe change your title to include where you are from.
Love the videos I’m 52 and my son is 30, we both love to ride, and at least one of two of my grandsons are going to be on a bike, we will do our part to keep it alive,
Bikes also got heavier and more complicated..
Matchless G80 Rules!..
You make a lot of sense ( love your vlog)
I have just got into it and my eldest boy wants one aswell (he is 15) q-ride in qld is $400+ for pre-learners plus HPT and other government charges lol then license fee then re license is extra ontop plus the course at a q-ride approved RTO. So yes dollar value is excruciating painful
In NSW – hidden costs for instance green slip costs just keep rising; I'm 62 and last year purchased XSR900 Yamaha – the reaction I received was – "for the money you can buy a small car which is safer" or "why are you putting yourself at risk given your age with a hyper naked bike" (I note ive been riding since 16 and still alive) – but I agree my motorcycle mechanic who I have relied on for many years is soon to retire ( in his 70s) and with the ever growing scarcity of motorcycle mechanics ( young people are not taking up rhe trade) I'll be forced to rely on dealerships with servicing costs that are greater than that charged by car mechanics
I am repairing more bikes being hit up the arse at the light than I have ever known! Didnt see this 20 years ago
Since cars are rapidly becoming less and less affordable, motorcycle is basically cheaper starting out. Though I started at 49, now 50. My only regret is not starting when I was younger… if I only knew then what I know now…”😂
Well one advantage to the video game regarding motorcycles is you can do the stupid stuff in the game and don’t bring it into reality. I love riding my Africa Twin, no game can do that. Game is theory, but life is reality.
Just because motorcycles can accelerate and slow down faster than most cars, does not mean one should always ride that way. 😂
If you ride safely to the flow of traffic and to conditions, it generally is as safe as driving in a car….just don’t hit anything or be hit. Any transportation faster than walking has an element of risk, it’s multiplied by stupidity of course.
Awesome video man! Sending respect from Serbia. Here its even more hard to get the licence. The avarage pay is 800$, and the licence has to go a1 a2 then a, the first licence you get costs around 600$ and every other is around 300 400$.. also it takes a long f time. I got A2 with 18 years old and waited 2 years to get the full A..
Reading the stories below you get the common thread my old man got me into bikes or I’m in my 50s and still riding. If you had a dad with a bike you were lucky. I was blessed with a dad who was a wild man a rebel loved his bikes and American cars I was on my first bike at 15 still riding today the old stores for break fast or the horse show for a brew. I feel sorry for lads and girls that will never feel that exhilaration of riding a bike
Great video Sir. Try zooming in and out every 30 seconds to make your talking heads vid more dynamic.
Mate , I'm 57 and own a Harley Davidson Deluxe and Suzuki GSXR1000. Married with 2 kids a 22 daughter and son 24 .
Your video was so spot on .
Very well said and my kids are just the same. Yes the government have sold this country out long ago
British bulldog. Wow, I'd forgotten about that. Was fun if you'd had your growth spurt early.
@oldnotdead. I am doing my part to keep it alive. I use my 1994 Electra Glide as my daily driver. I am in my 60’s too. Who says old men can’t ride a heavyweight bike?
Spot on my friend!!!!! So sad in so many of your points.
where I live in Ireland motorcycles have become more common, Probably due to the increasing cost of living and fuel costs a lot of the newer generation are opting for a bike over a car due to the simplicity and lower cost
Look on the BRIGHT SIDE guys:
– A lot of people took a "safe and effective" (many just to keep their jobs).
– A LOT of people are developing debilitating illnesses (complete coincidence, apparently caused by global warming).
– A LOT of second hand cars / MOTORBIKES / golf-clubs (etc) will be coming on to the market at BARGAIN prices!!
Rode for 30 years just on the Harleys. Gave it up last year. Biggest reason (among others): Risk is through the roof. People have never really watched for bikes. Now they’re all doing their Facebook, TikTok, etc and they’re not watching you. Added to which COVID (IMO) has caused pervasive indigence and entitlement in people. In short- they don’t care about their fellow man. So risk on two wheels is through the roof.
Such a shame it has to be so difficult and expensive in other parts of the world. For 3000 USD I can get a pretty decent used bike, so I have 3 plus a dirt bike. $75 a year each for insurance. I’m 64 and got a license at 18. It was and still is easy and not expensive. But still, so many young people would rather be on social media instead of going outside and doing anything.
Aussie male here , 66 years old ,back into riding and loving it
I have an associate at work that has told me his brother died on a motorcycle at least 50 times, yet he smoke over three packs of cigarettes a day. So I continue to ride my Harley take and 0:15 0:15 my risk and enjoy every day on it.
One of the reasons is that dealerships/shops don't work on motorcycles older than 10 years… so you're forced to either work on your motorcycle yourself or buy a new(er) one.
I don't really believe motorcycling will ever really die at least not in places like Asia, Indiana, parts of South America and places where the climate is more mild. A lot of people in those countries can't afford a car so they buy scooters and motorcycles. It will be only in western thinking where the politicians are interested in controlling the sheeple. You say eventually nobody will be able to own a motorcycle and you might be right but if your smart you buy used and in good shape bikes as well as reliable. I spend $317.00 a year for insurance and about $1000.00 a year for tires matainance and such. I spend about $720.00 on gas and I ride about 15 too 18,000 miles a year. If there is a car out there that I can run for that cheap please let me know because I am broke. That is part of the reason I ride. It's cheap.
World needs more guys like you sir
Too expensive
Mainly boy racers who come off trying to prove they are better than the next boy racer ,some people Expect you to ride a Sports /race bike or you are an idiot ! who rides an antiquated slow piece of junk ,i just ride for relaxation, not 20 something EGO,that im better than You !!
In India, nearly a million commuter motorcycles (with engine capacities under 200cc) are sold every month, and the numbers continue to grow. For instance, in November 2024, 0.81 million commuter bikes were sold, alongside an additional 0.53 million scooters—a highly popular mode of transport. This robust demand ensures that the motorcycle industry remains far from declining, in India.
However, when it comes to higher-capacity motorcycles, the scenario is less encouraging. Increasingly congested roads leave little room to truly enjoy the pure pleasure of riding, making these bikes less appealing to many potential buyers.
Youngsters, often even below the legal age for a motorcycle license, are eager to hop on bikes and start riding, sometimes without their parents' knowledge. They need no prompting to learn how to ride—such is the enthusiasm and passion of the youth here.
As someone getting back to riding with my 12 & 15year old girls, it is all about teaching them to respect and embrace fear.
When you ride, you are no longer a captive of fear.
One thing i am f..king over is arseholes tailgating bikes when they are trying to stick to speed limits, bikes aren't dangerous its the wa.kers in cars,
Spot on , I’m planning to ride my Tenere from Italy through Central Asia back to Australia.
If I had a dollar for everyone telling me it’s to risky and I’m too old , you know you will get kidnapped by ISIS 😂
I’d be bloody rich
I’m 61 and they can sit in there over 50,s retirement villages and vegetate, I’m off to explore the world.
