  1. As somebody who in the medical field I can absolutely promise you that a half out of it patient crawling into the ceiling is the most normal thing I’ve ever heard. Also though I can understand why a nurse would need to get him fresh linen just after surgery it made seem small but he would’ve been transferred to a fresh bed after surgery. If she had said an extra blanket or something maybe but linen is only changed if it has been soiled or if they e just had a bath.

  2. I just wanted to mention thar while what happened with Martin would be considered to most a planned thing, for those suffering from mental illness, 14 months can still make this an impulsive decision. Whether it happens in a few moments or months. I know that would contradict the meaning of impulsivity, but there are plenty of people who will plan things to a T, still survive it, and realize that they did actually, want to live. All it takes is a trigger that can set off an episode or even just the idea that "maybe you should plan this after all". In the blog he even said hes thought about this before.

I understand wanting to control your own life, but some live to an old age and are relatively healthy. Before my grandmas dementia got her, she was the stereotypical "grandma still doing something crazy like windsurfing" at 80. And if she had decided to take care of her health instead of thinking that she was invincible, shed still be here, and im sure shed make it well past, say, 90 in good health.

Like others said, its hard to hear about the things Martin said and not hear some of our own thoughts echoed. You dont need to be overtly depressed or feel typical shown symptoms to be depressed. Its sad he didnt get a chance to get help for it, im sure he was cared about by others. At the very least, he made sure that he wouldnt "be a bother" to others or potentially scar someone and its so sad to hear that its the end of a person's life and their focus is trying to put others first. That sounds like someone who cared about others in life.

  4. did you rlly just say someone has to be mentally unwell if they are consumed by how dark this world is?…… do you hear yourself when you say those things? are you aware of what planet you live on? gurl leave your dmn room this is so sad and scary to hear someone say. im baffled. please talk to someone bc you may not be aware of whats going on in the world to the degree youre going to need to be to be able to help and make change rather than sit and call people crazy for being aware of what world theyre in. i feel no empathy from ppl like you and it certainly doesnt help this place feel any brighter or kinder…

  5. About the railing story. I'm Honduran and this was all over the news when it happened. From news sources in Spanish and student testimonies there's a little more clarification on why they were all gathered there. Like the video mentions, it was a meeting in regards to a protest they were planning, but some students and family members later said that a lot of the people there were freshmen that had been told by people in this group that they had to be there for something regarding their enrollment into the school. Young kids being manipulated to show up for something they had no involvement in, just to further the agenda and make it look like more people were in it and possibly get some of them to want to join in with the protests. I don't know how common this type of thing is in other places, but at least how things are here I don't doubt those stories for a second. Yes, there's a lot of messed up things with the education system and universities that work as an extension of the oppressive government, but I've been a confused freshman being teargassed out of campus by the military police because I was too afraid to go near the exits where there were lines of MPs throwing rocks at students who were leaving. I was new in the city, from a small town, roads were closed and I had no idea how to get home. Point is, these people take it too far, they use student organizations as a good start for their own political careers and they definitely do not care to lie just to make their cause look like it has more support than it actually does. I would've been easy to convince that I had to be there, so i don't doubt those stories from the people who were there.

  6. Here's a curious excerpt from Martin Manley's site. When I first read it I was confused and I thought he possibly had Alzheimers but now I realize he probably meant it as something that might happen in the future? Although he doesn't use the word "would". I don't know, what do y'all think? Here it is:
"I began seeing the problems that come with aging some time ago. I was sick of leaving the garage door open overnight. I was sick of forgetting to zip up when I put on my pants. I was sick of forgetting the names of my best friends. I was sick of going downstairs and having no idea why. I was sick of watching a movie, going to my account on IMDB to type up a review and realizing I've already seen it and, worse, already written a review! I was sick of having to dig through the trash to find an envelope that was sent to me so I could remember my own address – especially since I lived in the same place for the last nine years!"

  7. I am totally on the same opinion as you for Martin Marley, no way he wasn't depressed.. I've thanksfully have gone better to where I see more daylights than I used to, I've also been in the depts , and yes I do panic about this all the time at night. Especially about this "global erasing virus" we've been living with for a few years. I respect him immensely for having taken all those precautions, man- all those Sh**tings where they just didn't wanted to go alone, they needed to bring innocent kids!!
    Very attentionate of him.

  8. The story about selling human remains really rubs me the wrong way. It's genuinely so disturbing and dehumanizing, knowing that people donated their bodies to the improvement of science and instead they were used and experimented with like gallery pieces. I hate any stories dealing with messing with bodies, mummies, or resting places. Dear god, just leave dead people alone!!!!

  9. With Martin, I'm sorry but he was not mentally sound like he says. Most mentally sound people do not want to commit s*icide.
He had to know that the people close to him would have been deeply affected. They probably felt that they could have helped him, and they probably could have.
B4 anyone says anything, I have had thoughts before, and know ppl who have had these thoughts. Things can and WILL get better, life is full of ups and downs, and I gurantee that things will get better for you. S*icide is not the answer.
I pray that you all have a great day, and remember that things will get better and you are loved. <3

  10. "It would have been obvious if the nurse did it, she'd have a history. People would have noticed."

You'd think, but a nurse over in the UK was literally unaliving infants so that the doctor over her unit would comfort her when a baby passed away. She got away with it like 8 times before they caught on

  11. The second story doesn’t surprise me considering how this exploitation of human remains has and continues to occur, notoriously in museums when Indigenous people ask for the remains of their deceased. The US itself (government, military) after committing massacres, would take away trophies and give them to the Smithsonian. There was this painter (last name Catalan (or smth like that)) who went to the funeral of an Indigenous man he knew, waited until his relatives left, and then dug his body up, decapitated him, and took his head for “research.” This morbidity is IMBUED in the formation of the US so the actions of these people do not surprise me. Despite the Repatriation Act, the human remains of Indigenous people are still locked away and not returned.
I state this because we all agree that this disrespect of human remains is disgusting and these people are being punished —rightfully so — but we ignore the similar abuses that have legally continued to occur.

  12. This isn't 100% relevant to the video, but I always put it in the comments section of videos that deal with ideation.
