4th. Gen Idols: Least Vs. Most Lines in their Title Tracks

Before anything else, the “line” in this video refers to the amount of time that a member of a group has to sing or rap in a specific song. When it comes to the true relevance of line distribution in K-Pop and whether it needs to be equal or not, it has been a matter of discussion by multiple K-pop fans all over the globe, but primarily heated disagreement. Most of the time, the higher the duration one will sing or rap, the more chance that member will shine in that particular song as they will be able to showcase their capabilities. Presumably, the lines can be distributed based on their skills and how fitting the members’ voices are to the genre and concept of the song. Therefore, it is truly inevitable in a group to have a member with the most and least lines. This video would then provide insights to the viewers regarding the specified topic. The question here would be, “does that member really deserves to have that many/little amounts of lines?”

  1. I apologize for disremembering Enhypen's Blessed-Cursed. But anyway, the members who got the least and most lines are still the same. Ni-ki with 77 seconds instead of 61 and Heeseung with 149 seconds instead of 127. Thank you.

  2. why do people say that itzy has fair ld when literally their MAIN rapper gets less lines than the sub vocal & rapper…. like wtf? and how does a lead vocal get more lines than a main vocal? this isn’t fair line distribution. jyp should either change their positions or the line distribution because this isn’t fair at all.
same situation with aespa btw. but aespa is at least a clearly vocal based group, but still I can’t understand why a main rapper gets less lines than the lead rapper and the lead vocal tops the main vocal.

  3. THE ATEEZ ONE MAKES ME CRY AND LAUGH AT THE SAME TIME
Yes Jongho is the main vocalist and the best vocalist but damn 500 seconds compared to not even 150 poor Yeosang
150 seconds isn't the length of basically any song by Ateez so if Yeosang put all his lines in a song it STILL would be too short for their discography
How can you live with 2 SECONDS in a song?!?!
Meanwhile Jongho's total lines are almost 10 minutes – that's maybe 3 whole songs?!
I CAN'T KQ WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOT EVERYONE SHOULD GET THE SAME LINES BUT IT CAN'T BE LIKE THIS COME ON

  4. Ateez kinda makes me cry and smile at the same time. They really treat Jongho according to his position as a main vocalist, literally giving him what a main vocalist should be doing. But kinda sad for Yeosang. I hope he's going to have more lines in HALAZIA

  5. Yknow, just in case anyone wants to start something about (G)I-DLE's line distribution I really do want to remind you that their songs exist all thanks to Soyeon, she deserves her lines

  8. if you really want to know how good or bad the difference is you should subtract the number of seconds the person with the least lines got from the person with the most lines and divide by the number of title tracks.
for example: yeji got 295 seconds. subtract that from ryujin's 199 and you get 94. divide by the number of title tracks, which is 8, and the average difference is 11.75 seconds.

    in my opinion –
the average difference is less than 5 seconds: exceptional
    5-10: amazing
    10-12: great
    12-15: good
    15-17: meh
    18-20: bad
    20-25: terrible
    25+: exceptionally bad

just want to say that this is quite a flawed system, yet i still think it's pretty good

  9. The ratio between the most and least lines in each group (the closer to 1 the "fairer" the line distribution)
    Aisha/Mia: 0.338
    Ryujin/Yeji: 0.674
    Huening Kai-Soobin/Taehyun: 0.691
    Niki/Heeseung: 0.517
    Minji/Hyein: 0.672
    Hyeonseo/Chaewon: 0.484
    Umji/Eunha: 0.692
    Yeosang/Jongho: 0.273
Juhaknyeon/Hyunjae: 0.416 (since Eric was on hiatus in Whisper era)
    Giselle/Winter: 0.592
    Seeun/Sieun: 0.5
    Gaeul/Wonyoung: 0.452
    Eunchae/Yunjin: 0.333
    Doyoung/Jeongwoo: 0.404
    Bahiyyih/Dayeon: 0.493
    Jinni/Lily: 0.579
    Shuhua/Soyeon: 0.422
Tsuki/Haram: 0.614 (since Sheon was added later to the group)
    Hyunjin-Felix/Han: 0.549
    Hitomi-Hyewon/Yuri: 0.331

Per these numbers, the "fairer" ones are TXT, Itzy, New Jeans, Viviz and Billlie and the opposite being Ateez, Lesserafim, Everglow and Izone
