I got a Large Black Dragon. It's a beast don't let the stars fool you
DQ4 and this game essentially run parallel to eachother. The decision you saw last episode where Rose dies, Psaro turns into the green monster and the chosen heroes kill Pasro is the cannon path in DQ4 if you play the game normally. All be it with some slight changes and differences.
This new decision is essentially what happens if Psaro doesn’t fall to despite/revenge in DQ4.
When I played this part I was definitely surprised and like what they did with it.

If you say no again he's all "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!", it replays the fake ending again, and time loops.
Though, it forces you to play through the "bad" ending. Even if you choose to trust Toilen, it's only the illusion of choice and the fake Rose cries a ruby and you're forced to believe her anyways.
Okay, I believe you have children. It kind of feels like your dad jokes have been steadily increasing throughout this playthrough.

Dragon Quest has a long history of giving dialogue choices that don't affect anything. In the first game, if you talk to the princess after rescuing her, she asks if you love her. No matter how many times you say "no," she replies "But thou must!" and the question repeats.
