[4K] Watch SpaceX launch Starship, the biggest rocket ever, LIVE up close and personal!

This is the second fully integrated full stack test flight of Starship and the mighty Super Heavy booster, the largest and most most powerful rocket to ever fly. It produces over twice as much thrust as the Saturn V that took humans to the moon.

The goal of the test is to get further along than IFT-2 in April 20th which didn’t make it to stage separation while also hoping the improvements to the launch pad hold up better than the previous attempt. If all goes well, Starship will re-enter near Hawaii about 90 minutes after it lifts off from Starbase, TX, nearly completing an orbit of the Earth. This would allow the teams to test the reentry profile and heat shields for the first time from orbital velocities.

  1. Both stages became bored with being rocket vehicles….
But SpaceX achieved most of their goals with this flight. In theory, they could launch again within a few weeks, with a Starship stack which is an upgrade to this one.

  2. Now imagine mechazilla just restacking the next ship onto the previous booster and retaking it just now – and the whole launch repeat for a tanker and stuff over and over again 😍

  3. This was really amazing to watch live! Thank you so much for all the incredible work you do. I have to watch all your videos to learn more about rockets. You inspire so many people. Much love from Sweden!

  4. Having now watched lots of the streams from this launch, I can honestly say I like this one the best. I have to admit that the one I watched live was the official feed on X. There's was not very good other than providing some authoritative statements, the only excitement was from inside me because of what I was launching. Yours I watched last.

Man! I kept getting chills watching! My excitement climbed back to launch day levels yet I've seen it from so many angles and heard so many commentators. You do the best at bringing that human connection to the presentation. It's just a part of who you are. Keep on keeping on.

  5. "Tims going to the moon!". A.D. (yes, A.D.) 2035: Timmy on Starship. Starship take off. Starship rise into sky. Starship explode. Timmy now good to start Bar-B-Q. Timmy of beloved memory

  6. After thoughts… Did they FTS both stages as a demo to the FAA of "look, boom button makes boom now!"?? Also I'm wondering if the limited window had to do with the aviation restricted airspaces required? I can imagine that shutting down a big slab of the gulf is rather limiting. Also I'm thinking there would be an impact on the other side where the re-entry corridor would likely interfere with the northern Pacific oceanic tracks. A small window limits the impact on a trans Pacific flight between the US and Asia (or vice versa).

  7. Can't watch these streams anymore. MaryLiz is incredibly grating. She just parrots back what you say and is uninformed. I can't be the only one providing this feedback.

Also, watching you watch from a balcony is lame.

  8. Someone needs to edit the face cam so the moment Tim freezes it's just the Windows error noise and a spinning wheel appears above his head.

Because that would be an AWESOME clip to play at the Astra Awards! 🤣

  9. I find it laughable that a rocket completely self destructs, scatters debris over thousands of square miles and it's considered a "major success". The dead guys who put the US on the moon fifty four years ago are enjoying angular momentum in their graves right now. Musk is a charlatan.

  10. Tim, you mentioned that you need to have some pre-planned things to say and do when watching a launch. May I vote "no" on that? Please? =) One of the things I love most about you is how real you allow yourself to be. The freezing, awestruck moments, the giddy and jumping up and down out of control moments, etc. This allows me to live vicariously through you. You convey my enthusiasm for space exploration so accurately. Thank you for keeping it real.
