  1. Another reason I don't overlevel is because rather than leveling up, I buy up all the items in every shop – and there are a lot of them. Then as you say, get too comfortable in the open world, lose souls, don't bother pucking them up. Shop still full, lvl still low 😉

  2. From my experience on several build test, stat scaling seem to be fairly low, and most of the damage increases comes from upgrades. So It seems to me you could be lvl 300 and still get almost one-shot by a strong boss. I'm starting to think the experience has been highly normalized to a degree that stats are only to meet requirements and maybe to get a 20% increase in something realistically speaking. then again I'm just 70 hours in.

  3. 1:29 got to say The Crucyble Knight was the hardest and most annoying boss I had to deal with yet it took me 80+ tries to beat him, when other bosses like Margit the Fell took me only 4 tries, and I somehow managed to beat Godrick on my first try ( I ques I have to thanks Crucyble for that, for training my reflexes)

  4. I have explored almost everything in Limgrave and Liurnia and even double checked for secrets (found tons in the process) and I am already 75 hours in (excluding the time I devote to co-op).
And I am seeing people have already beaten the game and are on their second or third playthrough. I don't know how to feel about this.

  5. I didn't even think about the over-leveled problem man. I made it to the front door of the capital, at lv 30, I think. With a +2 Icerind Hatchet. Didn't beat any main bosses, except the one you have to beat to get there. (I won't say the boss due to spoilers, but it's not in Limgrave, I assure you) 50 hours in, still hadn't passed lv 30 yet, cuz I'm exploring everywhere in the world I can go without killing bosses. Which, as it turns out is a LOT of it. It took me 137 attempts to beat that boss, cuz I wanted to explore where I shouldn't be. I've died in the thousands already… and this experience will always stick with me for this game.
However, I never did 2/3 of Limgrave, and now I'm lv 50, weapons up to +5. And it's not great tbh. I spent 80% of my play time insanely underleveled, so I never considered in doing so, I might end up overleveled. Wish I'd have seen your video sooner lol

  6. I kinda disagree that overleveling (or at least over smith stoning) ruins your experience. Yes, you lose some from the areas that you return to overleveled, but you actually GAIN experience and appreciation from the underleveled areas that you need to visit to become overleveled. I know certain cave systems like the back of my hand. I know some boss patterns better than the bosses. Plus it raises your heartbeat to sprint to chests.

  7. I think using a weapon that isn't fully leveled can help with this also, rather than steamrolling the content it will provide a challenge and help you experience new weapons that you may have otherwise not have tried.

  8. SPOILER

i fought morgott with melina summoned and mimic tear +7, and i fought rykard without the dedicated weapon used to kill him. I regretted doing these 2 actions bruh. Never be too overlevelled

  9. Man, you're great new contributor to the Souls community!
How come you have such a great content, so many views, comments but so few subscribers?
You deserve way more subs, man!

Keep up the good work and thanks a lot for your efforts!

  10. I mean it really depends on the player. Even though I am a souls veteran, the exploration of Stormveil Castle especially on the roofs was way too hard for my FTH build.

I wasnt dishing out enough damage and didnt have proper defenses. It was so bad that I came to explore the rest later, after I did Liurnia and parts of Caelid (couldve done it right after Liurnia or in between sessions though).

  11. I've actually thought I'd fully explored areas to later discover completely new things playing with friends. I missed a mini boss that drops a golden seed in stormhill castle and ended up killing it at over level 100 with fully upgraded weapons. If there's a NG+ I'm probably gonna end up going through the game a little more systematically. :A)

  12. I was constantly undergeared for most of Limgrave and the beginning of Liurnia because I kept upgrading different weapons. In my last session , I found the Liurnia mine AND a blacksmith AND decided on 2 weapons (one unique, one standard) to upgrade. After that, I rubberbanded hard. I was struggling to beat quite a few enemies out in the field, now I'm twoshotting the same regular enemies. It was quite the exhilarating experience. Then I entered the second legacy dungeon and promptly got my butt handed to me.

In addition to all of what you mentioned, enemy placement and player skill affect the experience big time. I absolutely suck at this game for example and the silver-lining is that, yeah, I might be able to twoshot things now, but they can do the same thing back. Bonus points if it's a courtyard full of rabid dogs.

  13. Ratatoskr and fans, is there a group password you all are using? I tried Ratatosk… The r won't fit.

Group passwords will display a message when anyone in the group kills a major boss, and grants everyone a golden chicken foot buff.

  14. Ok, so what about the teleportation trap chest that teleported me to place where as a mage it's easy to farm runes and also has like 6 or 8 plus 15 weapon upgrade stones

  15. I don't really agree with the over leveling take here. In my experience, I feel like I've done every area in the intended order, and I still got overleveled in the end. By the time I got to the Altus Plateau after clearing Caelid, I was already 20-30 levels over the recommended level that you're supposed to be there. No idea how, honestly, since I didn't farm at all, and I'm sure I still missed some bosses or dungeons/caves along the way.

  16. the exploring's been so much of a pleasure to me, that i had completed all of limgrave, weeping peninsula and caelid (excluding the area with the 2nd demi-god) before i actually got to Mr. Godrick, killed him at level 64. Although i didn't have the "pleasure of struggle" against this guy, the amount of happiness i got from exploring all the possible locations more than balances it out. Good luck out there, tarnished.

  17. Reading through the comments, I seem to be the only one that actually managed to get stupidly overleveled before stormveil. Of the 50 hours I have so far, I've probably soent the last 20 clutching on to 50-60k runes simply because I know how overleveled I am. I was level 40 when I beat Margit, which I beat in about 4 or 5 tries, then level 45 when I beat Godrick because I didnt want to go into the fight holding quite so many runes in case I lost them, but was dissapointed in how easy Godrick was, beating him on my second try (first try I fell off the arena lol). But the main problem is my indecision. In all previous souls games I've looked stuff up on the wiki, and leveled stats based on what weapon or spell I want to use. I'm not doing that with ER. So I've literally only levelled Vigor and End, plus a few points in strength and dex to use my swords. I have never levelled Vig past 20 in past souls games, but in ER I wanted to focus on invasions and being invaded, so high hp would be beneficial. But I noticed the hp you gain per level in Vig goes up with every level. The hp scaling is actually insane. I'm now at 30vig and 30end and I feel like its lead to making everything stupidly easy. But this is all due to me not having decided whether to level Faith or Int, which then also leads to levelling Mind. I keep wanting to try a faith build but the incantations I've found so far just suck so much, and I dont need more heals. Maybe I'll just go the Int path..

  18. A lot of these I find true. I have not found a level 3 somber smithing stone in 60 hours of gameplay. However, you can fight the Godrick with whatever you want. I fought him with a twice leveled sword. Some have done it with a non leveled weapon.
